[edit]Hello, I'm Dan56. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, New York Dolls (album), but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Dan56 (talk) 13:35, 7 September 2019 (UTC)
- George Gimarc, cited here, identifies "high wigs, messy make-up, high heels, and garters" as clothing worn by the band on the cover, all of which I see there myself and would associate with w As for platform shoes, those seem to be the same thing as high heels, and definitely associated with women's clothing. And, last I checked, men who wear clothing associated with the opposite sex are considered to be in drag. Dan56 (talk) 00:01, 4 October 2019 (UTC)
Oh yeah hi Dan56. Drag (as defined in Wikipedia:"The slang term "drag" refers to the wearing of clothing of the opposite sex" As I stated previously NONE of The New York Dolls on the cover are wearing clothing of the opposite sex. Furthermore, again according to Wikipedia, 'Glam Rock' (of which The Dolls are associated with) "Glam rock is a style of rock music that developed in the United Kingdom in the early 1970s performed by musicians who wore outrageous costumes, makeup, and hairstyles, particularly platform shoes and glitter." No mention of "drag" in that article... Furthermore, as to my credentials regarding Glam Rock, in the french edition of Wikipedia, my band, the electric eels “Although all their recordings have been lo-fi and have been commercialized only after the group's split, these recordings can be classified in glam rock.”
This was from a translation of this page: https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electric_Eels
So I do have some expertise regarding Glam Rock and the knowledge of what being “In Drag” does mean. If it is of import to maintain accuracy of Wikipedia I suggest you let my edit stand. Respectfully John D Morton https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/John_D_Morton
