- Thanks! I might keep up on updates of new articles! Did you ever notice if I published an article named “Picture”? NoBrainFound (talk) 22:59, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
- I did see the draft, yes. It looks like information about pictures is already covered at the Images article (which is actually where Picture redirects to), so you should try working on that article – 'Image' is even the current article for improvement! Just keep in mind that added information should be supported by reliable sources, and let me know if you have any questions. Wikipedia has a lot of policies and guidelines covering editing, and it can be pretty confusing when you first get started, so feel free to come by my talk page if you ever have any questions. - I wanted to make a article about images but I chose pictures because “Image” was taken. NoBrainFound (talk) 00:16, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
- If the topic is already taken, you shouldn't make a duplicate article – it would be unnecessary and probably waste too much of your time as there's already a lot of information in the Image article. In addition, creating an article on Wikipedia is pretty difficult nowadays for new editors since there's so many guidelines to follow to do it well. I haven't even made one myself yet, and I've been here for three years. If you really want to create an article, you could try looking in the list of requested articles for more specific subjects to write about – although note that one being listed there doesn't mean it's suitable for Wikipedia.
- I've seen your question on my talk page about reliable sources and will respond there soon so as to avoid splintering the same discussion across multiple pages. Please let me know if you have more questions, and happy editing! Perfect4th (talk) 00:27, 2 November 2024 (UTC)

Accidental revert of your edit, fixed now
[edit]Hi @NoBrainFound, I accidentally clicked "rollback" when viewing recent changes to Wikipedia and reverted your edit on Perfect4th's talk page. I nearly immediately fixed the error. I am sure Perfect4th will see your message. Sorry for the inconvenience. Incidentally, I have rollback set to warn before actioning but it appears that I found a bug where it doesn't always work. I will investigate. Have a nice day. Commander Keane (talk) 00:36, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
Made a few changes to Pictures
[edit]Created references and other NoBrainFound (talk) 00:59, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
- NoBrainFound, sorry to be this blunt, but Draft:Picture as it stands will not be accepted into the main article space.
- Reviewers won't add another article to the encyclopedia when Wikipedia already has an article for that subject, and while you added sources in general to the article, the sources need to be backing up what the article says.
- I looked at both of the links you listed and neither of them said anything similar to your article; the noaa.gov link doesn't have anything to do with pens at all. You're falling into a common problem that new editors face when creating a new article: you're writing it backwards.
- Articles on Wikipedia don't first say what editors think they should say and then afterwards find links to add; editors look at what sources say and then the articles should summarize what the sources say. Wikipedia's first job is to summarize sources, not write new things.
- All of this is why it's so hard for newcomers to write new articles, because there's specific policies that apply to articles that it's hard to understand without having edited for a while first. I really think you would have an easier time if you tried editing some existing articles first. Some things you can do are to check out your Homepage or the Task Center, fix some typos, or look at some WikiProjects for stuff you're interested in and see what needs doing. If you get a feel for how articles work and then try and write a new one it will be much easier.
- Sorry if this is discouraging, but I wanted to explain more about reliable sources so you could take another look at your draft and see what I was referring to. Do let me know if you have any more questions about sources, drafts, or other editing opportunities! Happy editing, Perfect4th (talk) 01:58, 2 November 2024 (UTC)

Helping “Images” become a regular article
[edit]Adding and changing to image article NoBrainFound (talk) 15:03, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
- I'm glad you're working on the Image article! Let me know if you have any specific questions. And don't forget you can always try working on some of the things I mentioned above (your homepage, the Task Center, fixing typos, and WikiProjects you're interested in) to get used to Wikipedia guidelines. It'll make it easier to find ways to contribute and build the encyclopedia. Happy editing, Perfect4th (talk) 18:51, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
