User talk:Nnfolz
Welcome
[edit]Hello Nnfolz, welcome to Wikipedia. Here's some tips:
- You can introduce yourself on the new users page
- If you made any edits before you got an account, you might be interested in assigning those to your username.
- You can sign your name using three tildes, like ~~~. If you use four, you can add a datestamp too.
- If you ever think a page or image should be deleted, please list it at the votes for deletion page. There is also a votes for undeletion page if you want to retrieve something that you think should not have been deleted.
- If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page.
Other useful pages are: how to edit, how to write a great article, naming conventions, manual of style and the Wikipedia policies.
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian Tony the Marine 18:53, 18 February 2006 (UTC)
Hi Nnfolz
[edit]Hi Nnfolz, welcome to Wikipedia. I didn't say your changes were wrong, but I asked you to be careful when removing information and to provide an edit summary so that people "know what you're doing". You just sent a private message (although e-mail is even more private), so that's going fine! :-) RexNL 13:44, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
- If you post a new message to a user's talk page, the user will see a bar with the text "you have a new message" (or something like that) whenever he/she opens a page. This is also the case if you change an existing message. Writing an edit summary is just a matter of filling in the summary field above the buttons save/preview/show changes. RexNL 13:54, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit]This is getting a little too personal. Apart from skirting into the area of personal attacks, it also is unlikely to convince him that he is wrong ;) - Guettarda 15:11, 23 February 2006 (UTC)
- I agree with Guettarda. Personal attacks are not acceptable in Wikipedia. It is best to let it cool off for a while. Joelito 18:43, 25 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit]I've had the pleasure of getting to know you in the debates. I'm very impressed with your love and commitment with the island. Why don't write something about yourself in your User:Page? It'll be great to know you better since I believe that you will be one h--- of a contributor. Your friend in Wiki, Tony the Marine 06:22, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
- The main reason I haven't done anything in the user page is because I don't know how to. I'm new to wikipedia and I still need more time to get the hang of all the formating tricks available. What I mainly do here is go around reading for pleasure. Every now and then I fix some minor mistakes here and there the mayority of wich I do without even login on. Still, when I learn enough to make a decent page I'll do it. On another note I'd like for you to teach me how to post pictures in the wiki (and whatever is required in a picture page). I still don't know how to.Nnfolz 06:28, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
- I can help you with whatever you need to help you get started on Wikipedia. Furthermore you can use your user page to experiment with wikipedia. To post a picture you need to do two things. First you need to upload a picture. This can be done by using the toolbox found on the left of every page. Click on upload picture and follow the instructions. The you need to palce the picture in the article. This is done by this command: . To reduce the size of the picture a command must be added. It will look like this . The display of the last command would be:
More parameters can be added such as placement , text, thumb. The command that implements image, size, placement, text and thumb would be: . The display would be:
If I was not very clear you can go here for more information. Joelito 18:54, 1 March 2006 (UTC)
Joel is right about the image uploads. One of the best search engines for images is: [2]. One the most important things about uploading an image is that you make sure that the site from where you obtained it does not claim a copyright on the image. There are thousands of images that are "public domain". Once you upload the image you must "tag" it with the proper public domain license (This isn't a problem because there is a list of tags in the upload site for you to choose from). Remember Joel and I and many other Wikipedians are here to help you. Tony the Marine 03:01, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
Oh yeah, about your User Page. Just click on "edit" and write something about yourself. You know, where you're from, your education etc. I mean you got some friends here who want to know about you. Tony the Marine 03:01, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
Re: La Borinqueña
[edit]I just received your message. If you use AOL. you and several others may be using a common IP addresses. If someone is blocked in Wikipedia who happens to be using or sharing the same IP address as you then you and all the other Wikipedians sharing that IP will be blocked from editing (It also happens to me). The way to beat this is by signing off and1 then signing on again. AOL will then assign you a new IP address and the problem should be solved. Tu amigo, Tony the Marine 03:15, 7 March 2006 (UTC)
Re:Spira
[edit]I think putting merge tags would enfuriate and allienate the people that have worked on those articles. Only by convincing them through argument would your/our goal be achieved. So I think putting the tags would not be a good idea. After all you cannot do it on your own. They are the ones that have written those articles (the majority of which are really well written) and you will need them if you wish to change/ rewrite anything. Joelito 12:16, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
Spira
[edit]We/I do not agree with the way you are trying to grow the article and what you consider to be "improvements" some of us consider horribly detrimental. The people at peer review and FAC are bureaucrats that do things by-the-book and have no idea what it means to write with heart. The article was written with a certain style, which I frankly believe that you do not understand. Ryu understands. He has made a large amount of edits to the article and I have not reverted a single one of them. They fit in with the article so well that it looked as if I had written them myself. Furthermore, Spira is a very stable article. The format and style have been reletively the same for nearly two years now. You don't just go and stir things up because you feel like it. That is just poor form.PiccoloNamek 05:14, 9 March 2006 (UTC)
Instead of making massive changes to the article, you should copy the entire thing to a separate page in your userspace, so that you don't disrupt anything. We can all view it there. Also, like I said, "IMPROVING" is highly subjective. What you consider improving I might consider near-vandalism.PiccoloNamek 05:23, 9 March 2006 (UTC)
I didn't say userPAGE, I said userSPACE. Did you know that you can create sub-pages within your own userspace. For example, I have created sub-pages for my pictures and featured pictures.
See? Why not create a page like User:Nnfolz/SpiraTest or something similar. That is what people here normally do when they want to undertake something so large.PiccoloNamek 05:30, 9 March 2006 (UTC)
- Look, I'm not leaving because I'm throwing a fit, or because I'm pissed off at you. I'm leaving because since the very day I created that article, I've been constantly worried sick about people editing it into something other than what I would like it to be. About people vandalizing it, or deleting content, or anything you can imagine. It hurts me inside to see people (from my point of view) mutilate it, and, like you said, that just isn't the Wikipedia way. It's true, the article is not technically mine, but in my heart, it will always be mine, and I just can't overcome that feeling, and it has and is causing problems for everybody. You didn't push me out of the article, I left for my own well-being and the well-being of the entire Final Fantasy Project. They will be better off without me. That, and I'm just tired of worrying about it. If it hurts this much to continue to concern myself with my creation, then I won't concern myself with it at all anymore.PiccoloNamek 06:05, 9 March 2006 (UTC)

Spira
[edit]Hey. I know things got heated in the discussion, and that I might have said a few biting things, but in all truthfulness, you did bring forth an issue that would have come up at some point, and that had been hinted at before. It was something we should have dealt with before now. Despite its unique nature amongst the FF games, Spira's still another planet where another FF takes place, and it really should receive the same standardization as the other location pages.
I did take offense a couple of times, but I can be hardheaded too, and not always for the best reasons. So I'm just going to try to forget about any hostility, and in a way, we do owe you a bit of thanks for bringing this up now, as it's best we resolved the issue at this point instead of later on when someone might have preferred to have an edit war or to vandalize the place constantly. Have a good one. Ryu Kaze 15:25, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

Rosa 02:21, 5 April 2006 (UTC)

Mi gran amigo
[edit]Que alegria me da ver tu mensaje. You know since you've been gone a lot of people have made the List of Puerto Ricans into a circus by adding mostly unknown people con 15 minutos de fama and even a "peluguera". Joel and I have taken the task of creating a serious List of notable Puerto Ricans with a strict "criteria". I would like you to join us in keeping this list clean. If you want to join us, please add the list to your "watchlist" and come over here:Notability Criteria and add your name. Tu amigo, Tony the Marine 20:13, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
Tony the Marine 04:19, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
Image Tagging for Image:Prflag.gif
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Prflag.gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

PR Flag
[edit]Nice, now you have to go back to the image (just click on the flag) and post the link to where you got the image as source:; then if the image is not copyrighted to post the proper "tag" ex:((PD-US}}, which would state that it is public domain. If not, somebody is going to delete it as they mentioned above. Tony the Marine 05:20, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
Tony the Marine 05:37, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
Please note that I am not at the moment proposing that the Ciudad Seva article be deleted; it sounds interesting. However, I'm not sure that the article, in its current form, meets the WP:WEB criteria for the inclusion of articles about web sites. In particular, you need to demonstrate its notability from verifiable external sources, rather than just asserting it from within the article. If you do this, there won't be any problem with keeping the article. -- The Anome 10:09, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for your comments on my talk page. It's always good to have another good editor, particularly one who can contribute on topics that we are generally weak on. Please understand; I like this article so far, and I'd like to see it meet the inclusion standards, so it can stay here for the long term. Please don't take my flagging it as criticism; this is par for the course as an article evolves.
You need to do two things to get this article kept;
- provide sources for your assertions other than from the website itself, or your own knowledge, that demonstrate the notability of the site (see WP:WEB for the standards needed for this)
- and provide a way of verifying those references (a web link to an authoritative source is excellent; a citation in a standard citation format to a printed document is second best, and a combination of several of each is the ideal)
When you've done that, please feel free to remove the tags from the article. -- The Anome 19:10, 15 July 2006 (UTC)

Date: Sun, 16 Jul 2006 13:46:05 -0700 (PDT) From: astrid rodriguez <astridpr@yahoo.com> Subject: UN ILUSTRE BORICUA... To: opinion@elnuevodia.com
Ver pagina: http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/User:Marine_69-71
Atentamente,
Astrid de Rodriguez Carolina, Puerto Rico

Re: About a pic I fell in love with
[edit]Hi Nnfolz! Well I don't see any technical faults with the image (although some may dislike the artistic sepia tones), but personally I don't feel that the subject matter is suitable for FP. However the majority would probably disagree with me there, so if you could find an article to put it in (perhaps bathing under "Bathwear / nakedness") I think it would be acceptable to most. --Fir0002 12:19, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

Hello, Nnfolz. An automated process has found and will an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that is in your userspace. The image (Image:Lln1005a.jpg) was found at the following location: User:Nnfolz/tools. This image or media will be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media will be replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. This does not necessarily mean that the image is being deleted, or that the image is being removed from other pages. It is only being removed from the page mentioned above. All mainspace instances of this image will not be affected Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 18:29, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
Replaceable fair use Image:Lln1005a.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Lln1005a.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add

, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Bleh999 03:36, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
