Need sources?

[edit]

I noticed that you're waiting on approval for access to JSTOR at the Wikipedia Library. JSTOR currently has a waitlist due to lack of available accounts. In the meantime, the Resource Exchange can help! We connect content creators with reliable sources. If you need a specific article or passage from a book that you don't have access to, drop by and leave a request. We're happy to help you access paywalled and print sources to the extent allowable by copyright law. Please let me know if you have any questions. ~ Rob13Talk 03:17, 9 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

(Category) rename proposal

[edit]

I am contacting you as you have been a contributor to History of Christianity during the Middle Ages. There is relisted discussion about renaming Category:Christianity of the Middle Ages. If you wish, please join this discussion. Based on the arguments in that discussion, we might also rename article History of Christianity during the Middle Ages. GA review

[edit]

Hello Nmclough,

Perhaps you remember me: I reviewed an article of yours once. I was wondering whether you'd like to return the favour. I have got a few articles nominated at WP:GAN#REL. Some are short, some are long. Much appreciated.--Farang Rak Tham (Talk) 20:54, 7 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Undiscussed renaming of articles.

[edit]

Please stop renaming articles in the area of Leitrim / Longford / Ardagh. They are part of long established structures. See for example Category:Lists of Irish bishops and archbishops. At the very least, discuss before moving. Laurel Lodged (talk) 19:55, 24 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Moran (surname), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Shannon (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

A tag has been placed on Category:Battles of Conmaicne Maigh Nissi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read! Conmaicne cuile tuiredh

§I have no idea how to use wikipedia to communicate to another user. Hopefully this is how you do it. I am a Colleran, this page has connected my surname to Ui Talcharaine and I wanted to know where this change is coming from? I am interested in the source. I have looked into two surnames that Colleran may originate from, one is Talcharaine the other is Mac Allmhurain, the latter making more sense. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Create Disambiguation Page: OpenHPI

[edit]

Could you create a disambiguation page titled "OpenHPI"

Reason: Article title is confusing. Needs a disambiguation page. OpenHPI project was founded in 2003 (https://openhpi.org, https://github.com/open-hpi/openhpi, Service Availability Forum, OpenSAF)) so I renamed https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/OpenHPI_(Online_Education) to "openHPI (online education)". Nmclough (talk) 22:30, 1 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Happy New Year! You don't have to ask - you can be bold and change OpenHPI to be a disambiguation page following Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Disambiguation pages. I'm curious though - what entries would you like to have on the page? Thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 23:52, 1 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I would add "OpenHPI (SAF)" (redlink, new page needed) and "openHPI (online learning)". Let me check. Thx and happy new year! Nmclough (talk) 23:56, 1 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
What would be the bluelink that would be part of the "OpenHPI (SAF)" entry? (see MOS:DABNOLINK) GoingBatty (talk) 04:07, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I will update/create the OpenHPI page but found there was none. So will create it. But I'm not sure how to create a disambiguation page since the existing article is holding that. Maybe I should have left "openHPI" and create a disambiguation page with an upper case "o" but an article about OpenHPI was expected not "openHPI". Nmclough (talk) 11:45, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
One way to do it would be to change OpenHPI to be a disambiguation page, after you create OpenHPI (SAF). Since Wikipedia automatically capitalizes pages in articlespace, both pages might need {{lowercase title}} at the top (like openHPI (Online Education) has. GoingBatty (talk) 19:36, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Article created: OpenHPI (Service Availability). I will look at Disambiguation Page but not sure how to move "OpenHPI" redirect to "OpenHPI" disambig. Thanks. Nmclough (talk) 03:02, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
