[edit]Edit Summaries
[edit] Hi there. When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:
The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.
Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field. If you are adding a section, please do not just keep the previous section's header in the Edit summary field – please fill in your new section's name instead. Thank you. - 220 of Borg 10:02, 11 August 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for some edit summaries, but you forgot one here for Anastasia Davydova. If you want to mark an edit as minor, there is a "This is a minor edit" ✓(tick) box just above the "Save page" button. There is a list of common summary acronyms at Wikipedia:Edit summary legend, and if you activate them in your user preferences, there are drop down boxes with common edit summaries that yoiu just need to click on to add.
- As you are a new editor, I strongly suggest that you give good edit summaries, take heed of advice from more experienced editors (such as The Rambling Man (talk · contribs) above), and acknowledge their posts with a short reply. Wikipedia is a collaborative effort, and it only works if we pull together to improve it. Happy editing!, 220 of Borg 11:54, 11 August 2012 (UTC)
Replying to editors
[edit]I noted your post to The Rambling Man, hope you don't mind me poking my nose in:
- To reply to an editor, the best place is where they post the message to you, so if I put a message here on your talk page, then you should reply here too. Just click on Edit on the section they post to and put your reply (suitably indented under thie message.
- For adding "date of birth, place of birth, height " see template:infobox person
- Please remember to sign your posts, either type four tildes ~~~~, or use the signature button on the editing toolbar above the edit window. Thte tildes are automatically converted into your signature.

Disambiguation link notification for August 19
[edit]Hi. When you recently edited Robeisy Ramírez, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Cuban (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Speedy deletion nomination of Doaba Headlines
[edit]Hello Nishnkd,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Doaba Headlines for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks, XapApp (talk) 09:25, 8 December 2012 (UTC)
This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Amrit maghera, and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://amritmaghera.blogspot.com/.
It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.
If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) CorenSearchBot (talk) 05:13, 30 August 2014 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Amrit maghera
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Amrit maghera requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://amritmaghera.blogspot.com/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
