These two spelling warriors seem to be the same person (it's almost certain [1] [2] [3]). Alefbe (talk) 21:07, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
- You sure? It looks like Microinjection accidentally undid M karzarj's edit and then undid himself after realizing his mistake. Do you have any other reason to suspect sockpuppetry? Nishkid64 (Make articles, not wikidrama) 18:55, 4 October 2009 (UTC)
- It seems to me that he was using the name "Microinjection" in that talk page (and in discussion with Alborz Fallah) and accidentally commented by another ID and then removed it and then returned the same message and signed it with the name "Microinjecion". Anyway, both have been relentlessly involved in a spelling crusade to change "Azarbaijan" to "Azerbaijan" in all Iran-related pages. Alefbe (talk) 04:24, 5 October 2009 (UTC)

WHO All Wikipedians and non-Wikipedians are invited to participate in team of up to three (no special knowledge is required at all, just a digital camera and a love of the city). Bring a friend (or two)!
REGISTER The proper place to register your team is here. It's also perfectly possible to register on the day of when you get there, but it will be slightly easier for us if you register beforehand.

Donald Hudson
I started to create a stub on Donald Hudson, the WWI flier, only to be told you deleted an article under the title Donald Hudson. Is there a reason why I shouldn't create a stub about this fighter ace?

- The editing pattern matches. The same is also true for user:119.73.3.51, user:119.73.7.47. Yesterday, 119.73.3.51 got blocked for 72 hours. However, in this case I think it's better to semi-protect those pages (including Amir Kror Suri). Alefbe (talk) 19:23, 13 October 2009 (UTC)

My Spidey sense is tingling. All that this single-purpose account seems to do is nominate articles for deletion that Sarsaparilla (talk · contribs) and Abd (talk · contribs) either created or wanted kept in prior deletion discussions. It's the nomination of Bank fee (AfD discussion) for deletion that leads me to believe that this is more about playing some game with respect to accounts and sockpuppetry than it is about genuinely writing the encyclopaedia. Possible dispute on Sino-Indian war
I just thought I'd let you know that I think another dispute is starting to form on the Sino-Indian war article. The user Xingdong has attempted to make several rogue edits and has also engaged in the removal of valid citations in what appears to be a blatant attempt to push his POV. In the interests of not starting a revert war, I will be careful with what I revert but I do think that both sides should refrain from nationalistic posturing and making biased claims. See [21] for more information.

Don't know what to do. Need ur advise
The article Nair, which is about an Indian ethnic group, is being vandalized repeatedly by users belonging to the Ezhava ethnic group. Since in India, most of the internet providers give dynamic IP instead of a static IP, it is very easy to escape after committing vandalism. IPs include 117.199.5.173, 117.199.1.93, 117.96.123.25, 218.248.73.53, 124.124.195.13, 173.3.44.201. I went through their contributions and found out that every single one of them have made some constructive edits in the Ezhava page and committed frequent acts of vandalism in the Nair and Nair related pages. A mistake made by one of them, exposed a well established user User:Sreejiraj as the sock puppet behind 218.248.73.53 as evident from his conversation in his talk page. I suspect most of these anonymous IPs are actually sock puppets of well established users. Could you advise me how to prevent vandalism from these users? Axxn (talk) 14:26, 22 October 2009 (UTC)

Millmoss block as NoCal100 sock
Hello Nishkid64, Millmoss has said that he is not NoCal100 and has sent you an email to that effect. He has contested the block and is looking for an explanation as you can see here. Would you mind letting him know if you received his email? Thanks, nableezy - 16:47, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
- Hi, sorry, should have at least let you know that I'd unblocked Millmoss (and probably asked first... sorry). The deciding factor in going ahead without more discussion was the disjuncture in the timeline: User:Millmoss was created hours before the NoCal sock User:LoverOfTheRussianQueen was blocked. Anyway, if you wish to discuss it further, let me know. Rd232 talk 10:16, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

You're invited!
New York City Meetup |
In the afternoon, we will hold a session dedicated to meta:Wikimedia New York City activities, review the recent Wikipedia Takes Manhattan, plan for the next stages of projects like Wikipedia at the Library and Wikipedia Loves Landmarks, and hold salon-style group discussions on Wikipedia and the other Wikimedia projects, for example particular problems posed by Wikipedia articles about racist and anti-semitic people and movements (see the September meeting's minutes).
In the evening, we'll share dinner and chat at a local restaurant, and generally enjoy ourselves and kick back.
You can add or remove your name from the New York City Meetups invite list at Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC/Invite list.
To keep up-to-date on local events, you can also join our mailing list.

Request for checkuser
Hi, I came here via "Wikipedia:CheckUser". I am involved in a discussion at a controversial article Medical uses of silver (formerly Colloidal silver) and I have good reason to suspect that one editor participating in the discussion is a sockpuppet. User:Beaupoint made his (or her) first contribution to Wikipedia to Talk:Medical uses of silver on November 1, and of his 15 contributions since then, 5 more were to Talk:Medical uses of silver. He also advised another editor involved in the discussion, quote:
"Trust me. You will never get the Immunogenics reference or anything remotely like it included in the article. This is a medical article so any references will undergo extreme scrutiny from many editors who haven't even commented yet." Here
How could he possibly know that, if he just joined Wikipedia four days before? The editor I am suspecting of sock-puppetry is User:DHawker, who was an active participant in the preceding, lively discussion at the noticeboard, but has not commented on the article since then. Actually I've just checked his contributions, and it turns out that the only page he as edited since then was User talk:MastCell, where he was discussing a topic ban against him from the article. He made a cryptic remark: It'll never 'be over', (sic) although he modified it 70 minutes later. The ANI thread on his topic ban is here. It might also be important to know whether the IP 123.50.142.4, who reverted my work at the article twice (1, 2) might have been used by him.
I would greatly appreciate a quick reply to my request. This is the first time I am actually having to deal with sock-puppetry. Zara1709 (talk) 23:16, 5 November 2009 (UTC)
- I've just noticed that you are since 4 days ago. I had randomly picked you from the list of people who could consider my request, but since I don't know when you'll be coming back, I made a cross-posting at User talk:Carcharoth (who is the first administrator in the list). - Ok, the request for checkuser is here. Zara1709 (talk) 00:54, 6 November 2009 (UTC)

I've unblocked 86.96.228.89 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) as it is a proxy used by many users from the UAE. At one point we had the entire country blocked because of one vandal. Fred Talk 14:44, 20 November 2009 (UTC)

Iran-related IP vandal
Special:Contributions/75.53.127.189 This user has vandalized United Nations geoscheme for Asia and South Asia in ways to remove Iran from South Asia. Can this vandal be disciplined? I have talked to you about a similar IP over the summer [22], he/she is one these single purpose editors vandalizing in regards to this topic. Thegreyanomaly (talk) 03:41, 3 December 2009 (UTC)
