Hi there - I see that you just started a month ago on Wikipedia!

I see that you have reintroduced some redlinks to the Van's Aircraft RV-6 and RV-7 articles. On the other hand I have been going around cleaning up longstanding redlinks!

The Wikipedia policy on redlinks is pretty flexible and essentially says that they can be left in if an article is likely to be created and can be removed if it is unlikely that it will be created.

We have had redlinks to Richard VanGrunsven on many of the RV series aircraft articles since early 2006. I had even put some of them in there myself, figuring that sooner or later someone would tackle a bio about him. A year and a half later no one has done so, so I took the links out, reasoning that if anyone does write a bio then they can be put back in. I notice that you have not only put a couple back in, but that you also have indicated on your user page that you have contributed to an article on him, although it is still redlinked. Are you planning to create a bio article on Richard VanGrunsven? - Ahunt 01:14, 10 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Geez that is a drag that it was deleted so quickly - we really do need that article! I hope you have retained your text and would urge to to try creating it again. This time make sure that it clearly says why he is a significant person, as that is the reason given for deleting it last time. It would help to have references from other that his own website as well. I would leave the redlinks in place in the aircraft type articles, as that will show that it is linked from other articles. Usually even a speedy deletion gives you the opportunity to add a "hang on" tag. If I know it has been posted I will add some comments to help keep it from being deleted. I had the same problem with an article that I created UnFREEz. If you look at the history and talk page you can see how it was saved!! Good luck! - Ahunt 15:51, 10 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
