Hej!
Tak for din tid! Mike H. Fierce! 08:06, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Hugo Rasmussen
[edit]A tag has been placed on Hugo Rasmussen requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Qö₮$@37 (talk) 17:08, 11 May 2010 (UTC)
- While the insertion of a source prevented the Speedy deletion, I am still not seeing anything in the article that suggests this guy meets our notability requirements. See particularly WP:MUSICBIO. Active Banana (talk) 18:12, 12 May 2010 (UTC)
- Call me a stalker, but Active Banana you make it easy to make my point. Rasmussen is certainly notable, and this is another case where a perfectly good article candidate would be overlooked because of overzealous editors with an itchy delete finger. A casual Google search will find that he at least passes #6 on the list of criteria at WP:MUSICBIOand possibly #1 and #5. The guy has 40 years of album apperances/session work under his belt.
- Nikolaj Christensen - I've never heard of Hugo Rasmussen until today, but I did a quick search (so I might have missed some references) and added a few sources, a small blurb in Billboard magazine, some Danish sources and a Jazz book that talks about Sweets to the Sweet, along a couple of album reviews to get you started on your article. You may want to start a Discography - you can use Jazz.com http://www.jazz.com/music/2009/1/10/pierre-dorge-hawk-meets-sun-ra as a start. If you need help with your article, there are actually some knowledgable Wikipedians who are still trying to grow the encyclopedia. Put a note on my talk page and I'll see what I can do. --Yankees76 (talk) 19:15, 12 May 2010 (UTC)
Hi! It seems you recently created an unreferenced biography of a living person: Hugo Rasmussen. The community has decided that all new biographies of living persons must contain a reliable source that supports at least one statement made about the person in the article as per our verifiability policy. Please add references as soon as possible. Thanks! --LaraBot (talk) 00:10, 12 May 2010 (UTC)
South Jutland
[edit]Hello, Nikolaj. Since you decided to change the stub South Jutland into a disambiguation page, it would be great if you would also help WP:FIXDABLINKS by checking all the other articles that contain links to "South Jutland" and fix them to target the correct article. Thank you. --R'n'B (call me Russ) 23:15, 3 December 2011 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Alga (game publisher) moved to draftspace
[edit]Thanks for your contributions to Alga (game publisher). Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. DoubleGrazing (talk) 09:14, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
- Hi,
- I came across this article while doing new page patrol, and had to move it to drafts as the sources do not establish notability per WP:NCORP. For that, we need to see significant coverage, directly of the subject (ie. the company, not its products or parent organisations, etc.), in multiple (3+) secondary sources that are reliable and entirely independent (of the subject and of each other). It looks like the Boken on ALGA book probably meets this standard, but that's the only one, which is not enough.
- I can see that you've translated this from the sv.wiki original, and at this point you might well ask "why is it not good enough for en.wiki, if sv.wiki is happy with it?" The answer is that each language version of Wikipedia is an entirely separate project with their own policies and requirements, and in what comes to notability, en.wiki has more onerous requirements than any other language version (that I'm aware of, at least). This is a common problem when translating from other language versions to English, and that's why, when I translate articles, I tend to first check that the sources in the original article are enough to satisfy en.wiki requirements, and if they aren't, I search for better ones. If I can't find them, then I just drop the idea, because there's little point in putting time and effort into translating something that doesn't get published.
- That said, I would like to think that a 100+ year old company has been covered over the years enough to satisfy NCORP, and that's why I moved this article to drafts, where you can work on it further, rather than initiating deletion proceedings.
- Best, -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 09:24, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
