Dwayne Johnson to The Rock
[edit]Hey Nikki311, I started a survey at Talk:Dwayne Johnson and requested that Dwayne Johnson be moved to The Rock. Feel free to express your opinion at the talk page. Thanks! -- KBW1 04:21, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

Tony Anthony article
[edit]Thanks for your help with my first article creation. It's now up at Tony Anthony. I really appreciate your edits and recommendations (I completely forgot about making a "Championships and Accomplishments" section, but it's there now). GaryColemanFan 00:09, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
Would you mind having a look over December to Dismember (2006), as the article is currently up for peer review. I'd be grateful for any thoughts you might have on the article, and that you leave your thoughts on the article here. Many thanks in advance, Davnel03 18:33, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

About the AfD for SD! vs RAW 2009...

Hi, I'm from the Schools project assessment team and I'd like to officially welcome you to our department. I've noticed that you've made several assessments recently and would like to ask you to follow our procedures and post your assessments to the Assessment Summaries section of the department page. That way we can make sure your assessments line up with our standards and the project's. Once again, welcome, and I hope we hear from you soon. Adam McCormick 16:06, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
- The issue is trust. We need to know that you're rating in a representative fasion. Just post ALL assessments for a few weeks then if we agree with your standards we'll promote you to "expert" assessor. Then you can go back to only posting assessments above Start and Mid. As far as posting assessments for short articles, it's a mixed bag. The problem IMO is that there needs to be a point of contack. Even if your summary is just your signature, having your name on the assessment is valuable. Adam McCormick 17:43, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
Welcome to the team Nikki, I hope you enjoy assessing, I am around if you need any further help. Camaron1 | Chris 10:46, 30 September 2007 (UTC)
- I don't think anyone told you directly, so Congratulations. We've promoted you to Expert Assessor for the project. You no longer have to post all of your assessments. Just make sure you post any assessments above start or Mid, and once again, welcome to the team and congratulations! Adam McCormick 17:46, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
Jessica Hatch
[edit]Hi Nikki. What can I do to improve on the article? I can contact Jessica herself and get more information from her. Also, I know you mentioned being in the diva search as not being notable but Eve Torres also has a wikipedia page as well. I don't see why one is ok and the other isn't. But if you can help me improve on the article I would appreciate it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Angel222 (talk • contribs) 16:53, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

Query...
[edit]Ahoy! Have you ever considered becoming an administrator? Would you want to be one? --Jeffrey O. Gustafson - Shazaam! - <*> 00:44, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
- Fantastic! I'm an admin myself, and have successfully nominated two people... Looking at your contributions, I feel you would make an excellent admin in an area of Wikipedia where 1) we have practically none and 2) that needs it the most (pro-wrestling articles). Always keep in mind that RfA can be a bit stressful sometimes, and some voters have odd rationale for supporting/opposing, but, like I said, I think you stand a pretty good chance and the Project could benefit from you having the tools. Whenever you feel you are ready to run, let me know, and I will draw up the nomination. --Jeffrey O. Gustafson - Shazaam! - <*> 01:18, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
OK, so I've already drafted a nomination for when you feel you are ready. It is only fair to point out though, that I am not an uncontroversial administrator and some folks... aren't fond of me, so to speak. So if you want to nominate yourself, I would understand. If you don't mind me nominating you, then maybe you could find a couple of people familiar with you who would like to co-nominate? They would put their co-nomination statements after my nomination statement and before your acceptance. Let me know what you'd want to do. --Jeffrey O. Gustafson - Shazaam! - <*> 03:20, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
Re: suggestions. Well, folks generally look for Wikipedia Namespace experience, so WP:AfD participation helps. You could even try your hand at closing non-contentious AfDs that are obvious keeps, for instance, which non-admins are permitted to do.
Looking at your deleted edits, I see you already have a pretty clear grasp on what doesn't belong in terms of speedy tagging, so thats good. You could do more image tagging, though. Many professional wrestling articles are plagued by images that are outright copyright violations, or replaceable fair use. {{subst:rfud}} is for images that are replaceable fair use (i.e. copyrighted images of living individuals without a clear rationale of why its replaceable), {{subst:nrd}} are for copyrighted images with no rationale at all, and {{subst:nsd}} are for images without a proper source (and fan sites or websites like ObsessedWithWrestling don't cut it). What I like to do when I get to a pro-wrestling article is I look at all the dubious images, to see if they are up to snuff. It's pretty easy to tell what is a fan-submitted photo, and what has been taken from a promotion's website or a fan site that just put up images they found online or took from other sources.
If you spot a vandal, reporting them at WP:AIV is good too. If you do RC Patrol and you spot a vandal, you could warn them before going to AIV for obvious cases. Figuring out when to warn people, and when to take it to administrators (or, when promoted, to block them yourself) is more of an art than a science.
Plus, just keep up the good work you are already doing.
Re: Co-nominators, the more the merrier, (though too many might be overkill)! If you need anything else, feel free to ask. --Jeffrey O. Gustafson - Shazaam! - <*> 21:09, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
Reassessment of Devon Werkheiser
[edit]I disagree with the reassessment of Devon Werkheiser article from B to Start. I've done most of the major contributions to the article, and would like to know why you say there is too little information for it to be B. The information included in the article is simply all there is available, at least as far as I know. Psychless 20:23, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
Re: Hey you
[edit]Hey there. I guess it has been a while. I say Melina's article is fairly decent and could became a GA even though I still feel like there is not much personal information about her. I have already taken the prose "out of universe" and removed week by week events. So all in all, I feel fairly confident in alerting the project to our nomination consideration. I would love Amy Dumas' and Mickie James' articles to become GAs too, with more personal preference and priority leaning towards James. As for Hemme, I don't have that article on my current watchlist but I will add it if we are to improve all past, present and future WWE Diva articles. I know that Hemme is a current TNA Knockout and I have no interest in any TNA articles, as I am unable to watch the program due to my geographical location.
Another thought I have been pondering for a while. My main focus is wrestling-based BLP articles with little interest on other pages. I have no pay-per-view events on my watchlist and I don't care one bit about this major overhaul editors are doing to convert PPV stubs into full-length play-by-play reports. That being said, here is my thought: since we are working to convert B-class or lower Diva pages to GA-class or higher, why not attempt to do the same with the article about WWE Divas? How it stands now, it is okay, but could be better with more references being added if the sources scouted are trustworthy. I wouldn't want to see the article be merged into the list of professional wrestling slang, not that it would but you never know with some of the editing sharks that patrol the Wikipedian seas.
Anyway, I will take my leave now and come back in due time, when I'm refreshed and not rambling like a bedlamite. - Deep Shadow 20:28, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
- Perhaps we can work on both James' and Lita's articles at the same time, similar to what we did with Stratus and Melina only this time it will be more in-depth. And since we are both leaning towards different articles, we can cover more ground that way. Afterwards we can swap to add more touches the other may have missed. Simultaneously, we could alert the project about Melina so that we are making the most out of our time. Since it was originally your suggestion I will not step on your toes by making the announcement. - Deep Shadow 05:56, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
- Great, trust something like this to happen right before we decide to do something important to the page. Hmmm, the only thing I could suggest is not using any of the websites as a source, but rather the actual book. When someone involved with WP:PW or Wikipedia itself reads the book, then they can add the information. That's all I can think of. Luckily this article, and just about every other WWE Superstar's article, is indefinitely semi-protected to prevent IPs adding this information using those sites as a reference. - Deep Shadow 19:45, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
Hey Nikki. The edit war at the Trish Stratus article is on-going as the editor is confusing kayfabe and reality. I am all done on revert limits so I was hoping you could take care of it and explain why it is done like this better than I can. - Deep Shadow 02:39, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
That's cool. Also, I can't believe Trish's page is in the top list of oldest unreviewed articles. - Deep Shadow 20:59, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
I have a recurring headache. - Deep Shadow 06:48, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
Hey Nikki, what do you make of this? Since the user couldn't successfully add the list to the WWE Diva article, they created their own page. I already see numerous things wrong with it like the article title fails the Manual of Style, it is a list created just for the sake of having such a list, it is a recreation of deleted material and the list appears to be created by original research. Should it be prodded? I have no knowledge of the process.
On an unrelated note, I haven't been very active this last week due to personal issues so I haven't had much chance to work on Mickie James' article. But now I have the time so I will get started later tonight. I have moved the article to my sandbox because I am rewriting the opening part of her career section and I am doing it in pieces. I will move it to the mainspace when I feel it is finished. Oh, and good job on Amy Dumas' page. You've added a lot of sources which is awesome. I hope to look over it soon. - Deep Shadow 05:04, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
I just thought I would let you know that Lex94 moved Melina Perez to Melina Pérez, claiming her name has an accent. I can't find any source to back this up, not even from her official websites. Do you know if this is true? I'm just a bit concerned because it is a current GAC. - Deep Shadow 01:15, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

Question
[edit]I noticed you reverted some of my edits (on WWE Hall of Fame and WWE Intercontinental Championship etc.), as I changed wording from the WWE to WWE. I did it based on the thing attached to the top of the WP:PW talkpage, which states:
- Change all mentions of "the WWE" to "WWE."
Is this wrong, or did I make a mistake? I just wondered because I simply made the edits as it says replace "the WWE" to "WWE", which I did. Davnel03 16:54, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for that. It really should be removed from the To-do list, I believe. Davnel03 19:37, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

The EWA article
[edit]It's the wikiproject:PW tag in the talk page that generates those categories right? That is on the talk page. Is that not why they are there? I think I may have manually updated them (to exactly as they would be anyway) or something of that sort so that's why they appeared in the editing text. How can I get those back on exactly if the wikiproject that creates them is in fact in the talk page but you have now deleted them? Thanks for the help. WFPro 20:01, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

D2D Sources
[edit]I've added them to the article. It won't make no difference. :( Davnel03 10:24, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks anyway. I'm trying to get the decision reverses so that the FAC can continue. Pitty that had to happen, in my view it is a very good article. Davnel03 13:55, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
- I think it can get FA. The only problem, as you say is sourcing. In my view, WrestleView is OK for sourcing, but I'm not wanting to get into a dispute over that. Apart from the sourcing, the article doesn't really lack as such in any other areas. I would take it back to peer review, but for some reason, peer reviews don't seem to attract comments from WP:PW members, which can become annoying. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to be satisfied with GA, but I really want to push it to FA. The sourcing unfortunately is it's problem. In my view, the WrestleView sourcing isn't being used for results or anything, its just for background detail. I will try and find other sources, and probably renominate. On that note, I'm trying to get Raul (FAC director) to reverse the decision, and let the FAC continue. It was only running for four days, which in my view is way too short time. Davnel03 19:01, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
- I've removed and changed some of the WrestleView sourcing. There's one or two other sources that need to go. Can the WrestleView sources that are the report on the PPV and dark match - can they stay in the article? Davnel03 21:00, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you. I'll insert them in the morning. Davnel03 21:30, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

- There's only a few WrestleView sources left, but still one or two need replacing. I really think this could easily get FA now, with these last few sources getting replaced. I know that I shouldn't really ask you, but I'm now looking for:
- A source telling me that December to Dismember is no longer being held for 2007.
- A source stating that Voodoo Kin Mafia accepted The Hardys challenge (I would of looked on their website, but it was recently update, so I couldn't find one).
- A source about Sabu's backstage heat.
- The Full Details On What Led To Paul Heyman's Departure From WWE
- A source stating Big Show has left WWE.
There's one other WrestleView source, but that's just the D2D results, so that can stay. I'm going to look for sources to do with the above points, if you could find some that would be great! You've been a superb help with the sources so far, and now I think FA could be a lot closer!! :) Davnel03 08:30, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks! I'll keep looking too! Davnel03 16:58, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
- And I've just about done! Can you have a quick look over at the article, as I'm planning to renominate it ASAP. Many, many thanks, you've done a superb job helping me! There is one WrestleView source left, and that is to do with the Sabu heat. As virtually all wrestling websites were reporting it, I've clarified it was a rumour, but if I do find a new source, I definitely will replace it. Should I renominate it now, then? Davnel03 18:56, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
- I've renominated it. Feel free to comments. As a reward for finding those sources, I present you with:

Re:Trish Stratus
[edit]I don't see the problem as I had never done an edit to the article, and had never read it either. I just saw that the article was more than a month overdue for a review, and I found out that the article was completely ready for GA status. It is extremely well-written, has 110 sources [and 99% of the sentences are sourced], written in a NPOV, etc. After reading it, How could I have not passed the article? Lex94 Talk Contributions Signatures 00:38, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
Could you answer my question please?
[edit]WPT:PW#Talia Madison I am simply wondering why Talia Madison is so horrendously non-notable when other wrestlers just like her have articles. You said something in the deletion review to the effect of "wait until she wins the title or is involved in a storyline." This hasn't happened with the other new women in TNA, either. I'm just not seeing what is apparently so obvious to everyone else; it has to be to get Talia Madison deleted six times and Jamie Szantyr twice, with both salted. This isn't just a decision, it's a strong one, one that I can't for the life of me understand. ThisDude's article is well above the standard of what previously has been posted (found a couple via Google cache and pre-deletion), and is up to the standard of posted articles. But it's being held back for reasons I can't understand. Honestly, if I weren't so level-headed (and modest, too!) I'd be tempted to make a WP:POINT of this by prodding or AFD'ing Jessica Kresa and Angel Williams, because the two of them and Talia Madison are just so similar I don't see the vast gulf that seems to exist. Tromboneguy0186 06:59, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
- It's the chicken and the egg, though. Talia Madison or Jamie Szantyr need to get unsalted before the article can go up, and for them to get unsalted, the article needs to be up..? Are there further improvements that need to be made to the article on ThisDude's subpage? I have very little experience creating articles, and none at all in creating good ones. Tromboneguy0186 18:51, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you for being so helpful :) Tromboneguy0186 20:39, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit]I did notify it on the talk page. It states clearly on the top that it's a FAC. Now, I didn't know this about the nomination procedure to wait for 1 week for someone to oppose, as it isn't mentioned on any wikipedia guideline or the FAC page. Lex94 Talk Contributions Signatures 00:00, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
I am sorry, but I had no idea I had to notify WP:PW's talk page, because these steps aren't on any wikipedia guideline that I have read. Lex94 Talk Contributions Signatures 00:19, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
Re: Guess what
[edit]I will say that when I saw the nomination I was a bit surprised. I don't know much about the FA process as I'm only really familiar with the GA criteria, but if I had to guess based upon CM Punk's article, I think this may have a chance. Maybe a few tweaks here and there and an expanded lead could help it along. I would feel pretty proud if the article we worked on together reached the ultimate plateau on Wikipedia (to be fair Bmg916 sourced the article months in advance using the now-blacklisted obsessedwithwrestling.com website). - Deep Shadow 00:11, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
- While viewing the article, I noticed a lot of the sources were from a blacklisted website, so I changed them to onlineworldofwrestling.com while fact checking each one, so I kind of did source it in a way. And while doing that, I noticed that the article was pretty decent, and decided to improve upon it by adding more information such as the amateur wrestling section and a lot of clean up. The motivation for Bmg to source the article in the first place was because of Burntsauce, as seen here. - Deep Shadow 00:35, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
Congratulations to you too! Your work was the key to its success. And this isn't even the best thing about the article's promotion. The best thing is that we have only gotten better at writing, editing and researching articles since we worked together on this one, so imagine how easily our latest works would pass. Also, I don't know why Lex94 thought I was "all for" the nomination. I never said a word. - Deep Shadow 03:11, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

Sourcing problem for Royal Rumble (1994)
[edit]Thanks for looking over this article. I definitely agree that there are a couple of sources that I'd like to replace. I was wondering if you could let me know which ones you think are likely to be challenged. I'm doing my best to replace the Wrestling Rollercoaster page, but for some reason, I can't find any reliable site mentioning the feud between Doink the Clown and Bam Bam Bigelow. Thanks again for your help, and if you could let me know what needs replacing (or might need replacing), I'd really appreciate it. GaryColemanFan 19:22, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
