Love Ghost (band) moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Love Ghost (band), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hello. I've done a little editing and added more references to this page, including articles from LA Weekly and New Noise Magazine, on top of the Rolling Stone and Uproxx references that were already there. Historically, indie bands on Wikipedia have been given a lot of leeway and there are numerous pages that have far fewer and far less notable references so I hope that confirming this page's validity won't be too hard. Your account has been blocked indefinitely for advertising or promotion and violating the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use. This is because you have been making promotional edits to topics in which you have a financial stake, yet you have failed to adhere to the mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a form of conflict of interest (COI) editing which involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is strictly prohibited. Using this site for advertising or promotion is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia.

If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, please read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the end of your user talk page. For that request to be considered, you must:

  • Confirm that you have read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements.
  • State clearly how you are being compensated for your edits, and describe any affiliation or conflict of interest you might have with the subjects you have written about.
  • Describe how you intend to edit such topics in the future.

Request reason:

It appears that I got caught up in the investigation of some sock puppet users[[1]]. The only connection I have to that stuff is that for some reason one of those accounts inappropriately approved an AfC page I did months ago. I had nothing to do with any of that and I am not a paid editor.

Accept reason:

Part of the reason I blocked the promotional nature of that Love Ghost draft, but the bigger one is Demetria Obilor, which (in relation to your other edits) comes out of nowhere. "Nigerian-American television personality" is kind of a signal, seeing how many sockfarms produce articles on Nigerian media personalities. If you can tell me, hand on heart, that there was a good reason for this, and I don't even know what the reason was, I don't mind unblocking. OK? Drmies (talk) 19:14, 20 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I assure you there was no nefarious intent :) My edit history is pretty random mainly because I sometimes come across women or people of color in entertainment/news and wonder if they have pages yet or if they are correct/need updates (I was originally looking to update Rico Nasty's page and learned she did a collaboration with Love Ghost, thus the creation of that page before trying to update hers). That's all. Would greatly appreciate an unblock, even though I don't really edit much anymore. Nightcrafter (talk) Nightcrafter (talk) 19:45, 20 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
OK--done. Thanks for explaining, and sorry for the inconvenience. By all means come back and edit more. Drmies (talk) 15:59, 22 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
