Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Nigel Turner, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Pickled Egg Records, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's content policies and may not be retained. In short, the topic of an article must be notable and have already been the subject of publication by reliable and independent sources.
Please review Your first article for an overview of the article creation process. The Article Wizard is available to help you create an article, where it will be reviewed and considered for publication. For information on how to request a new article that can be created by someone else, see Requested articles. The article Pickled Egg Records has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Completely uncited and has been since 2006. No indication of notability whatsoever, and a quick check turns up absolutely nothing. TheTechnician27 (Talk page) 02:36, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. TheTechnician27 (Talk page) 02:36, 5 December 2024 (UTC)

Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Nigel Turner. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Pickled Egg Records, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template), including links or details of reliable sources that support your suggestions;
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Frost 20:46, 6 December 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks, I appreciate your suggestions. Of course there is a potential conflict of interest, but I try to be as objective as possible. I will admit that when I first created the page (in 2006?), some of the comment was a little over the top, but this has now been removed. I'll try to add some citations to the page. Nigel Turner (talk) 22:44, 6 December 2024 (UTC)
- Comment Nigel, you need to take active steps to declare any potential conflicts of interest. See WP:DCOI for example for notice you must place on certain pages (such as the AfD or any Talk takes of articles you've created) as well as putting a notice on your own Talk page. - Thanks. I've added a Conflict of Interst Declaration to the top of the Talk page. In my defence, I always try to be purely objective and factual when adding comment. Nigel Turner (talk) 10:49, 20 December 2024 (UTC)
