Comments for New Caledonia Auracaria article

1. I would put a paragraph about what New Caledonia is, and where these plants are growing. It might be important for the readers to understand the habitat.

2. The Gondwana origin hypothesis is mentioned twice, but never described. At least I don’t think it was… Add a sentence or two on the original hypothesis.

3. Best to be consistent with grammar throughout the article.

4. Discuss more detail about why the Norfolk Island Pine contradicts the vicariance model with the Gondwanan origin hypothesis.

5. Explain in a couple of sentences why you think there may be cryptic species (cite the Scottish folks' research)

6. Paste your table of the species groups. You mention it, but I can't find it.

7. Check references for consistency. Some have italicized genus/species, and some have all caps…should be consistent!

This is a nicely constructed page, but one big thing that has to change is that you need to merge this with the already-existing page for Araucaria. Wikipedia pages for taxonomic groups do not include the geographic region in the title, so this page would more properly be called just "Araucaria", but a page already exists for that. The content you have here is unique compared to what's on that page, but you need to move your content into a new heading on the main Araucaria page, or under a specific species if that's more appropriate.

You also need to add many more citations - basically every single sentence in your first paragraph needs a citation link, but only the final two sentences have them. Please go back through the whole page and make sure that every factual statement is supported with a link to a citation.

You have a lot of information currently under the Gondwanan section, and this needs to be broken up quite a bit and included under different subheadings. It does not all directly relate to Gondwana, but would more properly belong under taxonomy, morphology, etc., as separate sections. Make sure you consult with the main Araucaria page before making these changes; it already has some of the necessary subheadings, so you can add your text in where appropriate to improve that page.

If you want to keep your page as a live page that only deals with the Araucaria species on New Caledonia, that would be ok, but you will still have to move to the main Araucaria page any content that is NOT specific to the New Caledonian species. If you're calling this page "New Caledonian Araucaria", then it needs to have only content that is specific to those species, and not the genus in general. The more general info needs to go to the main page. Please add to your talk pages here once you've decided what you want to do, and let me know. If you move your content to the main Araucaria page, then this page doesn't need to exist any more; if you decide to keep this page but alter the content, then please add a link to it from the main Araucaria page, so that this page is no longer an orphan (which it currently is).

I finally decided to stick to my initial idea, i.e., create a dedicated page for New Caledonian Araucaria. I therefore removed the content linked to the whole Araucaria genus (Taxobox included). I also restructured the paragraphs, and add a link from the Araucaria page (and others) so the article should not be orphan anymore. Finally, I add some pictures and also references for each statement.
