Violet UML Editor

[edit]

Please read Wikipedia:Notability (software). Violet UML Editor fails to meet any of the guidelines. I should mark the article for a speedy deletion, but will give you the chance to find material to help it meet the guidelines. Thanks for your contribution. --Walter Görlitz (talk) 03:03, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is awkward, I do not really know that software Vilet UML Editor, and I did notice its entry was "deleted" from wikipedia while searching for UML Editor a while back... At that time, I just inserted the url http://alexdp.free.fr/violetumleditor/page.php in the [List of Unified Modeling Language tools] not thinking I was going against wikipedia's philosophy...
Strangely I can download this software, I can run it, build some UML diagrams with it, and found some links referring to it on the web:
* [1] http://www.horstmann.com/violet/
* [2] http://blog.theopensourceu.com/2010/03/violet-uml-editor/
* [3] http://webscripts.softpedia.com/script/Development-Scripts-js/Violet-UML-Editor-32872.html
* [4] http://alternativeto.net/software/violet-uml-editor/
* [5] http://www.roseindia.net/software-tutorials/detail/20413
But, those may not qualify as reliable source... Wikipedia:Identifying_reliable_sources
Wow, if existing software can not be identified in wikipedia because no other deemed reliable sources are referring to it Wikipedia:Notability (software), don't we then need another open source of information ???
I can not delete my Violet UML Editor article, and attempted to remove references to it in the List of Unified Modeling Language tools, but Walter Görlitz restored them as article is not yet deleted.
Sorry for this waist of time. Nicolas.dh (talk) 03:51, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Violet UML Editor has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Does not appear to meet Wikipedia:Notability (software). See talk page of article's creator.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
