The article titled “Operation Gatekeeper” describes the bill passed during the Clinton administration aimed to strengthen the U.S.-Mexican border. Although the article provides an explanation of the bill’s purpose and how the bill went in to effect, the article lacks detail. Facts are given but not fully explained. An example of this is how the article explains that some appraised the bill and others criticized it, but the reader is never once provided an explanation of why these things occurred. This lack of information introduces facts to the reader but with little if any supportive or definitive evidence. It is this lack of clarity that renders this article helpful, but not incredibly informative. The reader is provided with hardly any back ground material on the bill and its origins. It is this lack of information that leaves the reader with unanswered questions and little incite.
