Welcome aboard!

Another resource for you is the Wikipedia Library Interns page. It is a good place to talk to other library interns at other institutions.

Biographies

Proposed deletion of General Pershing: One Step

[edit]

The article General Pershing: One Step has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable song. Being held in the Pritzker collection is not, per se, an indication of notability. No indications that any significant writing (critique or analysis) about this song exists.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Notable songs

[edit]

It strikes me that wandering through the Pritzker Military Collection and adding Wikipedia articles about all of the songs held there is not a terribly useful exercise. Most of these songs appear to lack any notability -- there is no independent writing about them available. Merely being held in the Pritzker Collection does not appear to be sufficient -- museums often collect objects that are not inherently notable merely for the purpose of preserving as complete an archive as possible. If there is more information available about the song other than its composer, publisher and publication date, the article amounts to little more than a catalog entry.
