If you are interested in Ukraine-related themes, you may want to check out the Ukraine Portal, particularly the Portal:Ukraine/New article announcements and Portal:Ukraine/Ukraine-related Wikipedia notice board. The New article announcements board is probably the most important and the most attended one. Please don't forget to announce there the new articles you create. Adding both boards to your watchlist is probably a good idea.
Finally, in case you are interested, similar boards exist at Russia portal as many editors contribute to topics related to both countries. The respective boards there are: Portal:Russia/New article announcements and Portal:Russia/Russia-related Wikipedia notice board. Of course there are also many other portals at Wikipedia or you may just get right into editing.

Image copyright problem with Image:Dr._Tetelbaum.gif
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Dr._Tetelbaum.gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

The article Alexander Tetelbaum has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- There are no secondary sources on this article and no source whatsoever for one of the most prominent claims to notability, namely the number of patents held.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Gtwfan52 (talk) 17:27, 10 June 2012 (UTC)

The page Alexander Tetelbaum has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appeared to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appeared to be a direct copy from https://www.amazon.com/Executive-Director-Alexander-Tetelbaum/dp/B0D7RBC9C9?dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.nZLCAIVn4Rxv428pA1vgSF5fEcxtGUFzaHFQMKN2QnsDiSYskRd-aeN6ZU_CizF6KG7dLYmxPJbVUEm-rxxSiHLxyy44whOK2Rwd-aK_4otGE1leMW4zfNd76O5zz-EG0ulyLnjGznDYlMYJdrEBUCi144hEM9bjMRSdtb1XuhS3W_2pyx19jHj1hyvAdc1ajrrv9XC93YSqTFwGEoORyeYnmiarDOmXtI8jgNmZCgs.nMjArjVBMOqu5bVMslLwbWXJ4PxCILY52kGn4TD5PKc&dib and foundational copyvio, copied from Amazon. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition has been be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, you may contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you may open a discussion at Wikipedia:Deletion review. -- Diannaa (talk) 20:10, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
- I think that page "Alexander Tetelbaum" was deleted by mistake. This page exists for more than 20 years and has true info and supporting links.
- I made minor changes around 4/24, when I added a reffernce to his newly published book "Executive Director". Until 10/29 it was no issues with this addition.
- I think I accidentally triggered some issues when on 10/29, I tried to add a new page " 'Executive Director' Book". On this page, I had 2 references: 1--to "Alexander Tetelbaum" page and 2--to the book "Executive Director" (at Amazon). It looks like it created some re-direction effect.
- I would highly appreciate it if you restored the deleted page (BIO). Sorry if I cause any trouble.
- Best regards, Natalie Heroux. Nheroux (talk) 04:23, 31 October 2024 (UTC)

Subject: Request to Restore the Page “Alexander Tetelbaum” After Unjustified Deletion From: Natalie Heroux, Page Maintainer Dear Wikipedia Administrators, On October 29, 2024, the page "Alexander Tetelbaum" was deleted based on unsupported claims and inaccurate information. The stated reason for deletion included an alleged link violation which was never present on the page, and there was no Amazon infringement. On October 31, 2024, I submitted a complaint to Diannaa, explaining the situation: "I believe the deletion of the page ‘Alexander Tetelbaum’ was an error. The page has been active for nearly 20 years, providing accurate information with verifiable sources. In April 2024, I made a minor addition to reference Mr. Tetelbaum’s recently published book, Executive Director. This addition went unchallenged until October 29. On that day, I also tried to create a separate page for Executive Director, which included a reference to both the 'Alexander Tetelbaum' page and the book’s Amazon listing. It seems this triggered an unintended redirection issue. I would sincerely appreciate it if the deleted biography page could be restored. My apologies if my actions caused any misunderstanding. Best regards, Natalie Heroux (Nheroux (talk) 04:23, 31 October 2024 (UTC))" After ten days without a response from Diannaa, I informed Dr. Tetelbaum. Below is his statement regarding the deletion: ________________________________________ To: Deleting Administrator November 11, 2024 Dear Administrator, My page on Wikipedia, maintained by Ms. Nheroux, was recently deleted, likely due to a misunderstanding. I respectfully request that the deletion of my page be reconsidered, and I would greatly appreciate its restoration. The deletion notice mentioned an Amazon infringement violation, yet there was no such violation. The Amazon link to my book, Executive Director, was added six months ago, alongside similar references to my other works. For your reference, here is the link in question, as noted in Diannaa’s “Speedy Deletion” letter: Amazon Link to Executive Director To clarify, my page’s last content update was approximately six months ago, and during that time, no issues were raised. I assure you that all information on the page is accurate and that there are no infringements on Amazon or other sources. Additionally, I realize there may be concerns regarding the copyright of my photo. This photo is from my personal archive, and I am willing to address any copyright-related issues with your assistance. I also recognize that further documentation of my 40+ patents may be needed, and I am prepared to add references to the U.S. Patent Office or list each patent individually if required. I hope you will consider restoring my page, as its deletion has been disappointing for me, my family, and my colleagues. Once again, I confirm that all information on my page is accurate and that there are no infringements of anyone’s rights. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to resolving this issue. Kind regards, Alexander Tetelbaum
- A page deleted per WP:G12 (copyright infringement) will not be restored.--Bbb23 (talk) 18:36, 11 November 2024 (UTC)
- If you are corresponding with the sublect of the article, I suspect you may have a conflict of interest. Please read the information below.--Diannaa (talk) 21:59, 11 November 2024 (UTC)
- There is no copyright infringement! The page just had a reference to the book published on Amazon.
- I do not think that the idea of switching the subject [from copyright infringement] to my conflict of interest is another excuse to consider what happened--the page with completely true info
- was deleted for whatever reasons. The reasons for deletions were already changed several times. I understand that mistakes happen,
- it's not a problem. Please be fair and just fix the problem--restore the page of the Founding President of the first Jewish university in Ukraine!
- Let's focus on facts, not personalities. Nheroux (talk) 19:16, 13 November 2024 (UTC)
Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Nheroux. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Alexander Tetelbaum, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template)—don't forget to give details of reliable sources supporting your suggestions;
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Diannaa (talk) 22:00, 11 November 2024 (UTC)
- Alexander Tetelbaum is my father and I do not try to hide it. I have no conflict of interest and truthfully provided all the information about him. Speaking about openness, transparency, fairness, and democracy, it looks where ever I complain on Wikipedia everything goes to to and you even did not disclosure your name or the name of your colleagues if they contributed to this unfair decision. Even in commumist Soviet Union, it was 3-judge pannel and the judge's names were not a secret. What is the reason for all this anounimous?
- So, I have no conflict of interest bit, again, we are taking if the page info is truthful and if there were any violation. If you do not have some other hidden agenda to delete this page, the answer is obvious--no violations and everything is true!
- I do not want to speculate why the page was removed--likely just a glitch and honest mistake. But now things look ugly. I also not in a biz to start a war: file complain to Wikimedea, or start a discussion in social media. I just want my father page restored. Nothing personal but we will do whatever we have to do. Nheroux (talk) 19:55, 14 November 2024 (UTC)
- Conflict of interest, as Wikipedia defines it, includes writing or editing Wikipedia articles about yourself, members of your family, your colleagues, or your boss. So you do definitely have a conflict of interest.Regarding anonymous editing, the Wikimida Foundation privacy policy states that it's okay for people to edit anonymously; creating an account is not even required.You can see by reviewing the consensus at Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2024 November 13 that there's unanimous support among those who posted that deleting the page as a violation of our copyright policy was the correct thing to do. Diannaa (talk) 22:32, 14 November 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Dianna, I have a suggestion. Let's stop the confrontation and try to fix the problem.
- Now, your reason (argument) for the page deletion is the alleged infringement with Amazon Books--
- the deleted page was similar to the BIO on Amazon.
- I can rewrite and replace the BIO on Amazon and it will look completely different from the Wikipedia page.
- Would this solution be OK with you and enough to restore the page? It will be no copyright violation of your policy.
- Thanks for your consideration. Natalie. Nheroux (talk) 13:25, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
- Once you have published copyright content on Amazon or elsewhere, it is protected by copyright. If you later go back and remove it, the copyright status of the original prose has not changed; it does not lose its copyright protection. Here is a suggestion: instead of writing a new biography to post on Amazon, how about writing a new draft article on Wikipedia that is different from the material in on Amazon? Use the instructions here to create your draft. Then, when you think it is ready, submit it for publication. Diannaa (talk) 14:22, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
- OK. If this is the only solution, I will do it. Thanks for your suggestion. Natalie. Nheroux (talk) 20:02, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
- Subject: Request for Review and Guidance on Publishing Dr. Alexander Tetelbaum’s BIO
- Dear Dianna,
- I hope this message finds you well. I have completed a draft of the new biography page for Dr. Alexander Tetelbaum, which is currently saved in my sandbox. I would greatly appreciate it if you could review the draft.
- If the draft meets the necessary standards, please let me know the steps required to publish it. If there are any improvements or adjustments needed, I’m happy to make the changes.
- Thank you so much for your time and guidance!
- Best regards,
- Natalie Nheroux (talk) 14:13, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
- Sorry, but I don't have time to review the draft. I have added a template at the top of the page to get it in the queue for review. Please be patient; there are 1558 drafts in the queue. Diannaa (talk) 14:22, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
- so, i do not need doing anything? Nheroux (talk) 17:55, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
- No; I have gotten it added to the queue. A reviewer will look at it. There is quite a backlog though, so please be patient. Diannaa (talk) 21:33, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
