Thank you. Please I wish to object to the reversal of my edits on Sonja Smith: A Namibian Journalist. I wish to state that, that article is poorly written with wrong citation methods and grammatical errors. Even the headings are wrongly stated. I tried to improve the article with accurate and reliable sources with proper edits and all my efforts are wasted by the reversal.
May I ask if the checks and balances on articles are not meticulously done? I only wish proper creation of articles are done with good English while those who speak the language better should be checking the reviews.
Please, I ask that you give me back the editing power to re-work that page. A woman's page like that should be free from bias and filled with authentic write-up. Thank you.

Mirrors

Information icon Thanks for contributing to the article Nkem Nwankwo. However, one of Wikipedia's core policies is that material must be verifiable and attributed to reliable sources. You have recently used citations which copied, or mirrored, material from Wikipedia. This leads to a circular reference and is not acceptable. Most mirrors are clearly labeled as such, but some are in violation of our license and do not provide the correct attribution. Please help by adding alternate sources to the article you edited! If you need any help or clarification, you can look at Help:Contents/Editing Wikipedia or ask at Wikipedia:New contributors' help page, or just ask me. Thank you. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Yemi Fawaz requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. AfroCine: 2020 Months of African Cinema Contest Winners

[edit]

Greetings!

Thank you very much for participating in The 2020 Months of African Cinema Global Contest which was concluded on 30 November 2020. The contest was able exceed all expectations, with the creation of over 3,200 articles written in 19 languages. This places the contest firmly as one of the most successful article writing contest on Wikipedia.

A big thank you to you and every single person who created articles during the period of the contest for making this happen!

Please note that we have now concluded the review of all submitted articles, and winners have now been listed on the relevant page. We'd still be contacting everyone who has won something separately to send over their prizes. Thank you very much once again! --Jamie Tubers (talk) 23:45, 03 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Congratulations to all the winners. Good job, reviewers and the organizers. Ngostary2k (talk) 00:13, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I am really happy about the results of this contest. I want to ask... Is there no consolation prize for people like us?

You can give us T-Shirts. I really want #Wikipedia T-shirt, please. Do consider my request. Keep up motivating us. Ngostary2k (talk) 00:17, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Awazi Angbalaga moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Awazi Angbalaga, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Speedy deletion nomination of Ọrụ Uwe Ojii.

[edit]

Hello Ngostary2k,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Joseywales1961, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged an article that you started, Ọrụ Uwe Ojii., for deletion, because there's already a page about that topic at Police. Please don't be discouraged; we appreciate your effort in creating new articles. To avoid this in the future, consider using the search function to find pages that already cover what you want to write about.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.

For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Joseywales1961}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Nnamdi Azikiwe University

[edit]

Information icon Hello. Your recent edit to Nnamdi Azikiwe University appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 10:14, 23 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I added Unizik Alumnus and I created authentic citation for that. I cited from a reliable source. These are people that went to Unizik. Do you mind telling me any name I added that did not go to Unizik? Ngostary2k (talk) 16:56, 23 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

As explained above, the requirement is that the person already has their own article on the English Wikipedia - No article = No inclusion - Arjayay (talk) 14:09, 24 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox images

[edit]

Hi there, please be aware of WP:IBI when adding images to infoboxes to avoid them being in a frame. Just the filename is required, and the caption is a separate field. Thanks. -Kj cheetham (talk) 16:36, 16 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ngostary2k, please note this, as I've just had to fixed another batch of images like this again today. Let me know if you'd like any further clarifications. Thanks. -Kj cheetham (talk) 11:52, 21 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Cheetham Kj, please I dont understand what you mean by WP:IBI. Could you teach me what to remove from the thumbnail I copied before publishing to avoid images coming out as a frame? I dont know how to handle it. How do I make it just a file name? Give me example. Please do it here.

Again, I am automatically stopped when I add 25 photos in 24hours. I was given a message that I cannot put more than 25 photos in Wikimedia article in 24hours. Please I want it to be reversed to 100 photos. Will you help me? Who do I talk to? 25 photos are too small for me. I want it to be increased. Please help. Thank you -Ngostary2k (talk) 16:04, 21 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ngostary2k, thanks for your reply. Looks like you're using the visual editor for adding images, which I'm not overly familar with. I'm also not familar with the 25 photos limit on Wikimedia, so I'll try and ask for help. -Kj cheetham (talk) 15:44, 21 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • What is the best way to add images to infoboxes using the visual editor, baring in mind WP:IBI?
  • Would someone be able to clarify the daily upload limit for photos on Wikimedia?

Thanks.

Alright. Thank you for extending it to 50. Ngostary2k (talk) 20:08, 21 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment - Please, that approval for 50 photos has not been validated. I was stopped again after adding 25 photos to Wikipedia articles without photos yesterday. The order was given or rather spoken without action. Wikimedia is supposed to be a friendly space but it turns out to be frustrating and demoralizing space. This is not good for movement strategy and inclusive editing. I request that this sanction is removed for me. Please allow me to add at least 50 photos to articles without photos. Without the sanction I can add up to 100 a day. Please free my username. Thank you. Ngostary2k (talk) 4:12, 22 August 2022 (UTC)
Your frustration is understandable, but it doesn't appear you made the changes to your activity to use the upload wizard on Commons that I pointed to. Your username is not under any extra sanctions or restrictions. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 22:20, 22 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
After reading the conversation at the Teahouse, I understand better what you are running into. This is not a limit on uploads - the photos you are adding have been uploaded previously and by others. This is a limit on using the #WPWP tag. Stop using the tag and you should be able to add more photos. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 22:27, 22 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Oh! Thanks for pointing it out. I got it right from under the name and the image described. I guess the person that uploaded it made the initial mistake. I will be more careful next time. Thank you. serif">Ngostary2k(T) 🌻 08:31, 23 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Nkechi Udeze for deletion

[edit]
A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Nkechi Udeze is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Nkechi Udeze until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article until the discussion has finished.

Reading Beans (talk) 16:04, 1 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the information on the discussion of the article on Nkechi Udeze. May I point out that the article is written without interest and has lots of accurate and authentic sources to back it up. The article was also created based on a Wikipedia Program "Wiki Loves Libraries." As the article is on a Librarian, I strongly belief that it is useful and adds value on the categories and visibilities of Librarians on Wikipedia. It is written with resources from the project. I hope that it passes your judgement and review based on the sources and usefulness. Thank you.

Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). Jamiebuba (talk) 12:49, 2 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Oh really? That was fast. I used reliable sources. They are accurate and authentic. I used over 20 good references to substantiate that article. Why is it now removed from the published after meticulous efficient creation? I honestly do not understand your issue against that article. If there are areas you feel that need adjustment, point them out here but to state that it is not suitable as written to remain published sounds absurd. Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Madonna University, Elele, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Basem Alian moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Basem Alian, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three, to be safe. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. Please stop using 'Opera News' as a source on Onitsha North. The site is an open blogging platform, and cannot be used as a reference. If this does not make sense, please ask me for more details before re-adding the material. Thanks. Sam Kuru (talk) 13:39, 25 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Really? Opera News a blog? I am hearing it for the first time. I will keep note of that while I make enquiries. Thank you. Ngostary2k (talk) 14:44, 25 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Respectfully, this is clearly noted on the site. Each author is tagged as a "self media writer", and there is a disclaimer on each article which notes "Opera News is a free to use platform and the views and opinions expressed herein are solely those of the author and do not represent, reflect or express the views of Opera News. WPNG images

[edit]

Please be more careful when you add images to Wikipedia. Images taken from Wikipedia Commons should indicate the source they were taken from, to make sure they wp:verifiably represent what they claim to represent in their titles. An unsourced image uploaded by a block-evading wp:sockpuppet such as this is unacceptable. Thanks, ☿ Apaugasma (talk ) 14:06, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please also be aware of WP:IBI when adding images to infoboxes. Thanks. -Kj cheetham (talk) 21:58, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ngostary2k, you're still continuing to add images to infoboxes improperly, such as https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Gemma_Gibbons&diff=1172830744&oldid=1157391241, which is a topic we spoke about last year at User talk:Ngostary2k#Infobox_images. Did you not have any luck asking at TEAHOUSE last time I raised this? Thank you. -Kj cheetham (talk) 19:53, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Lust (2010 film), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Cinema. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 06:03, 18 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

JTtheOG (talk) 02:23, 8 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I believe this article is written with authenticity and accuracy. It also followed the Wikipedia policy and guidelines. The sources are open for evaluation. I am wondering from which point of view your arguement is coming from.
Thus an article on sports personality who are notable are pointed out for deletion? This article is well written. I don't see the basis for its being singled out. I strongly vote that it stays. Ngostary2k (talk) 06:01, 8 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
