Request to TPWs

Would someone please nominate Ogden Reid for RD on ITN/C under March 2? I’m in transit and Template:ITN candidate is unworkable on my mobile phone. Thanks, Newyorkbrad (talk) 04:08, 4 March 2019 (UTC)

  • By the way, pretty much OT but I recently watched a fascinating doco called Obit. [2], featuring the New York Times obituary writers. Loved it, and highly recommend it. I had always wondered how obituary writers churn out accurate obits in a matter of hours. This documentary reveals their secrets. It's free to watch on Amazon Prime, by the way (link is within that IMDB link). Probably fun for any encyclopedist. Softlavender (talk) 11:09, 4 March 2019 (UTC)

New account changing user pages of ex-admins

Hello Newyorkbrad. You left a note in one of your posts at RFPP. Also mentioned in a thread on TRM's talk page. This might be a sock of User:Karmafist, who was the subject of Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Karmafist in 2006. The last person to post any sock information at User:Karmafist was User:Raul654 back in 2006. My guess is that there was no SPI. Thanks, EdJohnston (talk) 21:35, 4 March 2019 (UTC)

I've dealt with it. [3] Either they will follow my advice or else they will get an indef block. Jehochman Talk 13:29, 7 March 2019 (UTC)
Thanks. I’m traveling and mostly offline for a few days. Regards, Newyorkbrad (talk) 14:23, 7 March 2019 (UTC)
March 20, 7pm: WikiWednesday Salon and Skill-Share NYC

You are invited to join the Wikimedia NYC community for our monthly "WikiWednesday" evening salon (7-9pm) and knowledge-sharing workshop at Metropolitan New York Library Council in Midtown Manhattan. Is there a project you'd like to share? A question you'd like answered? A Wiki* skill you'd like to learn? Let us know by adding it to the agenda.

We will also follow up on plans for recent and upcoming edit-a-thons, museum and library projects, education initiatives, and other outreach activities.

7:00pm - 9:00 pm at Metropolitan New York Library Council (8th floor) at 599 11th Avenue, Manhattan
(note this month we will be meeting in Midtown Manhattan, not at Babycastles)

We especially encourage folks to add your 5-minute lightning talks to our roster, and otherwise join in the "open space" experience! Newcomers are very welcome! Bring your friends and colleagues! This month, optional post-meetup drinks afterward at 9pm!--Wikimedia New York City Team 18:48, 19 March 2019 (UTC)
