OMNY stations

[edit]

Please do not add the listing of OMNY stations, as it violates our guideline that Wikipedia is not a manual, guidebook, textbook, or scientific journal. The MTA has its own list of OMNY-equipped stations on its website. It is not appropriate to add this information here, as Wikipedia is not a travel guide. Thank you. epicgenius (talk) 00:47, 19 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, I do appreciate your edits. I am going to replace this section with a more general "rollout timeline" section instead so it doesn't violate guidelines. epicgenius (talk) 00:48, 19 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Would it violate the policy if I were to add a point-of-information on individual stations stops (ie: Grand Central, Times Square, etc) noting whether or not the subway station was OMNY compatible?

NewYorker27, it would not, but this will become unnecessary by the end of the year when all stations have OMNY. That's why this information has not been added yet. I will edit the template {{Infobox New York City Subway station}} to allow it to display whether it is OMNY compatible. I understand you have spent a lot of time on creating the OMNY table, so I will find a guideline-compliant way to restore the information. epicgenius (talk) 01:07, 19 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Also, don't start adding the information just yet. I may have find a much easier way to display OMNY capability that only requires editing one page. epicgenius (talk) 01:14, 19 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I have finished adding all of this information into the template. Please see the articles for Times Square–42nd Street/Port Authority Bus Terminal station or Tompkinsville station for examples. Thanks again for the listing, even though it was against the guideline. epicgenius (talk) 01:52, 19 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
