Piping to avoid redirects
[edit]I saw you tried to improve the Raegan Revord article by changing a link to a redirect to a pipe to where it gets redirected to. And I understand that instinct, I do.... but Wikipedia actually prefers to keep the redirect. Please see WP:NOTBROKEN for an explanation. I have undone your edit so that it meets our guidelines. Let me know if you have any questions! -- Nat Gertler (talk) 23:00, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for reaching out! Could you please explain what a "pipe" is? Thanks! Nerd271 (talk) 00:46, 20 March 2025 (UTC)
- When you put the text that appears into the page's code (which you may be doing through an editor that doesn't show you that), so that when you click on the text, it takes you to the named page, that is a "pipe". When you put Missy Cooper into the Raegan Revord page, that's a pipe (in contrast to the simple wikilink that had been there, Missy Cooper, which is a direct link, not a pipe.) -- Nat Gertler (talk) 00:54, 20 March 2025 (UTC)
