User talk:Neddyseagoon/2009/March
Hi. I've added a few more depictions of Mrs Thatcher to the list, and started a new section. Hope this is all right. TheRetroGuy (talk) 12:53, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of Mechthild of Bavaria
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Mechthild of Bavaria, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:
- Unremarkable Person
All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Cut/Paste moves
[edit]Hi. Just for future reference... When moving pages, please use the move tab at the top of the article instead of cutting and pasting the content to a new page. Using the move feature keeps the page history intact which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. I've tagged the capitalized version of Hagia Triada for deletion to allow the move to be completed with the history preserved. --Onorem♠Dil 13:10, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
- Right - I tried to use the move tab but got the 'this page already exists' message, so I couldn't do it that way. How else can I move it over a page that already exists? Neddyseagoon - talk 13:11, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
- Oops. Didn't notice that. In that case, you'd use the tag I put on the version that needs to be deleted. {{db-move|page that should be moved to the new title}}. It might take a bit, but an admin should get around to it eventually. --Onorem♠Dil 13:15, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
Casmene
[edit]Hi, I noticed that you add the Redirect for Casmene to Comiso. For years it has been (wrongly) thought that Casmene could have been located where the modern Comiso stands but at the same time an other archeological site has been found on the Monte Casale that is 46km NE from Comiso, on the border of the provinces of Ragusa and Syracuse. I wrote few lines about Casmene in english (although it needs improuving) to help locate the site. Ciao! --Sal73x (talk) 13:59, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for sorting out the page of Comiso. :-) --Sal73x (talk) 14:19, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
Battle of Alvøen
[edit]Hi - I am the original author of the article at NO-wiki. I have begun my translation at User:SinWin/Battle of Alvøen - the language may not be too good, and the progress might be slow, but perhaps we could combine our naval forces in some way? --Sindre (talk) 10:51, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you for your corrections! I will try to find time to translate more of the text in the near future. --Sindre (talk) 09:47, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
A tag has been placed on Hans Reinhold Fersen, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing no content to the reader. Please note that external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article don't count as content. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}}
to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Kingpin13 (talk) 11:07, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
Hi Neddyseagoon, there is a discussion at your article at DYK, where it was recently nominated (the discussion is here). There are still some concerns about the referencing in your article...there appear to be two good sources in the bibliography (the Italian source and the Nature article), but they are not cited with inline footnotes anywhere in the main text, and there are several paragraphs in the article that have no sources at all. Since I don't have access to these sources, would you be able to look through them and add some footnotes in the appropriate parts of the article? Thanks, rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 13:48, 8 March 2009 (UTC)

Roman Vandalism
[edit]I am contacting all the members of the Wikipedia:WikiProject City of Rome (what few there are) to let them know of the vandalism problems at the articles for the Roman forum and the Pantheon, Rome. I am no longer watching these pages as I am a little disgusted by Wikipedia's refusal to protect these pages after months of vandalism. At least the Roman's had a way to deal with the vandals. LOL!--Amadscientist (talk) 04:30, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
Please do not place the {{hangon}} template to articles that have not been nominated for speedy deletion, specifically they do not apply to articles that have been prodded. If you disagree with a prod then you may simply remove it. I have removed both the hangon and the prod from Francis I of Beauharnais as I assume you object to it's deletion. Hi. Did you mean to put this category into Category:1798 in Egypt? [1] Thanks! [[Sam Korn]] (smoddy) 11:21, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
Wikilinks on Roma Ostiense railway station
[edit]Thanks for adding the wikilinks on the article that I translated, will you add the rest? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Alexbarrow (talk • contribs) 23:49, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
- The article looks great! Thank you so much. --Alex Barrow (talk) 13:32, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
- No, thank you! Would be nothing without the text you've translated. Like to have a go at Roberto Narducci? Neddyseagoon - talk 13:45, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
- I bumped it up to the top of my translation todo list. How to you get that pretty blue box on your talk page? --Alex Barrow (talk) 13:55, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
- Done If in your wikitravels you come across any other articles that need to be translated, tag them with {{Expand Italian}} and/or send me a message. Let's work together again sometime. --Alex Barrow (talk) 19:17, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
