Carthusian monasteries

[edit]

Can I have your permission to delete the categories "Carthusian monasteries in Scotland" and "Carthusian monasteries in the United Kingdom". The reason for the former is that there was only one Carthusian house in Scotland and the reason for the latter is that the United Kingdom didn't exist in the time of Carthusian monasteries. Regards, Deacon of Pndapetzim (Talk) 14:17, 27 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The first could be deleted, though the second would still be useful I think. 14:18, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
Further to that, I have emptied and blanked Category:Carthusian monasteries in Scotland. Neddyseagoon - talk 13:57, 2 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I deleted it. Deacon of Pndapetzim (Talk) 14:09, 2 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Democritus meditating on the seat of the soul

[edit]

I have nominated Democritus meditating on the seat of the soul, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Democritus meditating on the seat of the soul. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Thank you for your help!

[edit]

Hi, Neddyseagoon, and thank you for your help with Wikipedia:WikiProject TUGS! This WikiProject is currently trying to improve all articles related to the 1988 children's television show, TUGS. Are you interested in the series at all? Because we would love to have you. Thanks again! --SteelersFanUK06 ReplyOnMine! 22:50, 2 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Templates

[edit]

Just wanted to let you know that Blofeld and I have created some translation templates for articles that need to be expanded, via translation, from other wikis. There's a full list here. I figured you might be interested, given your record. :-) --User:AlbertHerring Io son l'orecchio e tu la bocca: parla! 15:01, 3 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A star ...

[edit]

I came across Parlement de Tours by chance, which led me to look once again at your amazing contributions to the project. You deserve to be a wikistar, feted by the crowds, although the fact that you work quietly on the things that matter rather than grandstanding or making a fuss means that you're probably much less well known than many who've done a fraction as much for the encyclopedia as you have. All the very best, Angus McLellan (Talk) 19:52, 4 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Laocoön and His Sons

[edit]

May I ask why you have removed the category Hellenistic and Roman sculpture and added Roman copies of Greek Sculpture. AFAIK there is no consensus that this is a Roman copy. There is a theory that it is and there is also the traditional view that it is the original work by the sculptors from Rhodes. Since the earlier category allows for the possibility of its being either an original or a copy it seems on the face of it to be the better option. Paul B (talk) 14:00, 8 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It seems you are emtpying the old category. Still, there is a significant problem with the new one, as stated. Paul B (talk) 14:02, 8 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The differentiations are explained at Category:Hellenistic sculpture - and if there are two different consensi on a sculpture, two different categories can be added to its page. Neddyseagoon - talk 14:08, 8 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Paul B (talk) 14:10, 8 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It appears that the subject never existed. The "source" entry in wapedia wiki is obviously a source of misunderstanding: these are, widely taken, years of design-construction-expansion of the library, not years of life. Anyone born in 1928 was too young to participate in the principal construction period (1932-1945) and anyone dead in 1958 would miss the expansion launched in 1958. I'd suggest deleting Vladimir Schuko (1928-1958) and renaming Vladimir Schuko (1878-1939) to Vladimir Schuko without added numbers.

History of the library is now missing from its official site but retained at the "old" site http://old.rsl.ru/history/xxcentury8.htm (in Russian; they used to have an English history section, but cannot find it anymore. . NVO (talk) 21:31, 10 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of St Pancras Hospital

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article St Pancras Hospital, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Not particularly notable - wouldn't survive AfD.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Battle of Sagra, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Battle of Sagra is a redirect to a non-existent page (CSD R1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Battle of Sagra, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. I understand your concern. How would you recommend doing that? I have already put both footnotes and a bibliography on the page. Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.7.38.235 (talk) 07:28, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Advice

[edit]

Linking to the german source would help stop people putting {{unreferenced}} on your latest article.

Scope of paired articles

[edit]

I noticed you had contributed and invite you to weigh in on the subject. Nativity of Jesus in art and Nativity of Jesus in later culture have a potentially unclear area between them: where is visual art of the 20th century to go? I have started a discussion and would welcome your comments there. BrainyBabe (talk) 18:48, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
