Etruscans taskforce

[edit]

I'm looking into creating a taskforce to improve the quality of articles relating to the Etruscan civilization. Since I've seen your name in several Etruscan related article histories I thought you might be interested in joining. Best wishes/Pax:Vobiscum (talk) 00:23, 5 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dandy_picture

[edit]

Dear Friend! I am very appreciating to you about this picture - http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Image:Alfred_Guillaume_Gabriel.jpg. I would like to use it in my academic work. Unfortunately I didn't found the author name of this painting. Do you know who it was? Thank you in advance for answer, Laila Kundzina —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.226.74.108 (talk) 15:31, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

See here for the web page it was drawn from - that should say.Neddyseagoon - talk 17:42, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

St. Patrick's Purgatory

[edit]

Hello Neddy!

I saw your name in the edit history of Wikipedia:Pages needing attention/Medieval history. Between that and your user name, you may be the right person to ask this question of.

I stumbled over an article St. Patrick's Purgatory while following the trail of an unscrupulous modifier of Wikipedia pages. The article seems to me as if it was written as an April First joke. But I'm not sure. Will you please take a look at it?

If you don't have this background for this, perhaps you know of someone who does. Thank you. Wanderer57 (talk) 13:26, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Neddyseagoon - one of the aspects of Krayenhoff's life that is quite entertaining is his interaction with Napoleon. I can send you details of this encounter if you would like to add it to his page. Regards, Luke Krayenhoff Lkrayenhoff (talk) 18:11, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, add it here - or even better, on the page itself! Neddyseagoon - talk 22:08, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:MuseumRomanCivilization.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:MuseumRomanCivilization.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Rettetast (talk) 11:31, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Dianajohn.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Dianajohn.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. NotifyBot (talk) 14:00, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I thought I should tell you that I've done quite a lot of editing to this. This is for consistency to match other opera articles and follow Opera Project guidelines etc. Please let me know if I can help in future. Perhaps you would like to join the project? Best regards. --Kleinzach (talk) 14:26, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Very many thanks. As it stood it was just a basic translation of its French original - much better! Neddyseagoon - talk 15:46, 18 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Marie-François Auguste de Caffarelli du Falga, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://thelouvertureproject.org/index.php?title=General_Caffarelli. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. A tag has been placed on Louis-Marie-Joseph Maximilian Caffarelli du Falga requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. ninety:one 16:04, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Template:History of British Christianity has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for Deletion page. Thank you. Bardcom (talk) 19:42, 20 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image:HPlogo.jpg

[edit]

I have tagged Image:HPlogo.jpg as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Some examples can be found at Wikipedia:Use rationale examples. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags/Non-free. Thank you. Temple of Minerva Medica

[edit]

Morning,

I translated Temple of Minerva Medica (nymphaeum) in french fr:Temple de Minerve Medica. I have a little problem : I didn't understand the notes. Could you clare it ? Best regards, VIGNERON * discut. 11:43, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's a rewrite of http://penelope.uchicago.edu/Thayer/E/Gazetteer/Places/Europe/Italy/Lazio/Roma/Rome/_Texts/PLATOP*/Nymphaeum.html#Nymphaeum_2 - that should have a bibliography somewhere. JRS is Journal of Roman Studies, not sure about the others. Sorry not to have been of more help. Neddyseagoon - talk 08:47, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Armée des Pyrénées orientales requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader.
