Page Deleted
[edit]Hi, thanks for reviewing my article. I noticed you deleted it for the sole reason that it had no significance. I have to ask then, why are our co-laborers such as Reach Records and other Christian Record Labels listed in Wikipedia. These are the same labels that my article are related with. When I look up Christian Hip Hop artist on Wikipedia, the artist who we have performed with are also listed. I guess what I need help with is why is my article not relevant when I see other articles on Wikipedia that pertain to us. Please consider reposting. Thank you again for your consideration.
- See WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. Your article didn't cite reliable independent sources (the artist's own site isn't independent, and blog posts aren't sufficiently reliable) to satisfy WP:V to show that this company is notable per WP:CORP or WP:MUSIC. NawlinWiki (talk) 19:23, 16 November 2010 (UTC)

Lab Consulting Partnership Page
[edit]Why is it that you decided to delete my hours of hard work? This is an assignment for a high level marketing class. It took you less than 1 minute after my page was posted to delete it. I can site COUNTLESS articles on the same (or similar) subject that make absolutely no claim of credibility and have NO citation. It is clear that the very guideline you stated as the reason for my deletion also would allow me to create a page From Article A7:
The criterion does not apply to any article that makes any credible claim of significance or importance even if the claim is not supported by a reliable source or does not qualify on Wikipedia's notability guidelines.
I made claims (that are completely credible but nonetheless) that The Lab was one of the only firms in the WORLD focusing on non-technology improvements and the note of the words that they have PATENTED and are becoming industry standards.
Furthermore, I would bet that you know very little of the Management Consulting industry which would disqualify you from judging if this article is notable. Reading the Wikipedia page on it does not count either...
Thanks for your time... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Opsdog (talk • contribs) 21:31, 3 November 2010 (UTC)
- As far as the other articles, see WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. If you think something else should be deleted, let me know. As far as the company, you need to cite reliable independent sources to support your claims, see WP:V. And as far as my being an expert on management consulting, no, I'm not - but that's the point of WP:V. If you cite independent sources, we don't have to take your "expert" word for it, and anyone can verify the claims. NawlinWiki (talk) 21:41, 3 November 2010 (UTC)
- It seems strange that writing for Wikipedia would be an assignment for a marketing class, since Wikipedia's rules specifically prohibit marketing. I looked at the list of current school and university projects, and couldn't find an assignment that sounds like the one you describe; which of those projects is yours? FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 21:41, 3 November 2010 (UTC)
That was a supplement to my main argument...
The criterion does not apply to any article that makes any credible claim of significance or importance even if the claim is not supported by a reliable source or does not qualify on Wikipedia's notability guidelines.
Please explain this... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Opsdog (talk • contribs) 21:46, 3 November 2010 (UTC)
- OK, perhaps, although without independent sources, the article would soon get deleted by PROD or AFD anyway. But on reviewing the article, you also have the problem that it's basically advertising (as one would expect if you're writing it as a marketing assignment). For example, the article claims that The Lab will double or quadruple return on investment within a year, citing only The Lab's own website. More of same: "The Lab Consulting has developed a unique, industry-first methodology that was conceived by experienced, senior staff members." See WP:SPAM and WP:NPOV. You can go to Wikipedia:Deletion review if you want to discuss this further. NawlinWiki (talk) 21:50, 3 November 2010 (UTC)
- Personally, I don't think that "The Lab was one of the only firms in the WORLD focusing on non-technology improvements and the note of the words that they have PATENTED and are becoming industry standards" is a claim to notability- it's easy for me to imagine a company which is all of that and yet has never been written about in a reliable source. Many brand new companies of no particular significance hold a patent and hope one day to be industry standards.-FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 21:52, 3 November 2010 (UT
What would you suggest that I add? Fisher Queen does not think the claims I made are significant, but knows little of the industry. NawlinWiki says that I need references to credible sources but clearly the majority of management consulting firms have references to their company pages (Deloitte, KPMG, BCG). I can obviously delete some of the things you classify as "marketing". Should I simply remove these references? I had 3 other credible references on there and there is NO chance you could have read them in the 1 minute it took you to delete my page. I am confused. In all honesty, I feel that I am being unfairly treated and if this continues I would like to be able to contact someone who I could speak to over the phone or via email to discuss this. This article did make a claims of significance. If you say that my article would have been deleted by PROD of AFD anyways then fine...let it happen.
You may want to change to rules: The criterion does not apply to any article that makes any credible claim of significance or importance even if the claim is not supported by a reliable source or does not qualify on Wikipedia's notability guidelines.
Thanks
- Which references are the reliable, independent sources? I re-read the article, and I don't see even one of the links there that is a published source writing about this company in any depth. Did I miss them? -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 22:32, 3 November 2010 (UTC)
- To Opsdog:
- I don't believe that this is a class assignment, but that's irrelevant. I also don't believe that NawlinWiki destroyed "hours of hard work", since you've created the article three times already and in every case it was created as quickly as it was deleted. But that's irrelevant too. What matters is whether the article is a valid Wikipedia article. And I believe it isn't.
- To Opsdog:
- Deciding that your article qualifies for deletion does not require bending any rules. Your company is not on par with Deloitte, KPMG, or BCG and I think you know this. And if your company is not notable, it's not going to be possible to make an article about that meets the notability criteria, no matter how much you try.
- Notability, as laid out in the policy page, is fundamentally about what independent sources are saying about company. Your article consisted of nothing but links to the company's own site, a few sites about consulting in general that didn't even mention your company, and one user-edited wiki.
- That you're continuing to push us to accept your article as it is written currently only makes me even surer that you know your argument is lost. If you insist that we're wrong, though, I encourage you to read the notability criteria page again, and re-create the article in a form that resembles the other consulting firms you linked above. —Soap— 22:38, 3 November 2010 (UTC)

Longevity by Cosmic Acceleration Theory
[edit]Hi Nawlin, I noticed you were from Louisiana and just wanted to mention that Texas obtained it's Freemasonry Lodge Charter from Louisiana and I was also wondering why you deleted a historical fact from the Wikipedia. I am from Brenham, Texas the Birthplace of Texas. Cyrus the Great did free the the Jews from Babylonia. Also, I have been getting knocked down a lot today about my Longevity by Cosmic Acceleration Theory as part of Longevity myths that I feel to be unfair since I can back this theory up with Physiscs. I am also well educated. http://en.wikiversity.org/wiki/Longevity_by_Cosmic_Acceleration_Theory Longevity by Cosmic Acceleration Theory I started this thread to suggest that some Longevity myths may actually be facts. This theory also involves Einstein’s Time Dilation by Relativity Theory, Applied Physics and Cosmic Activity. So, Time dilation is responsible for Biblical Longevity as an explanation after Noah’s flood because the earth is still rotating 365 days a year normally given that ancient records were recorded correctly. To clarify, this theory says that a living being can age slower or faster in its solar system since effects from within the galaxy or universe do not affect the earth’s typical orbit. Meaning the earth is still normally rotating 365 days a year however the speed of the galaxy traveling in the universe has changed do to gravitational effect from other bodies such as black holes were Time Dilation has occurred. Furthermore, the measured time of the clock will speed up during deceleration as the earth approaches the speed at creation which should be zero meters per second and in contrast the measured time of the clock will slow down as it approaches the speed of light since it is accelerating. So basically, you could start ageing faster or slower and you wouldn't know by examining your relative time at that instant but over a period of time a difference would be noticed since your time is based on the rotation around the Sun. You removed my speedy request on this article since, effectively, the website I thought was the original source of the article has copied Wikipedia.
OK I understand that there are mirror sites of Wikipedia. But the particular page (http://www.servinghistory.com/topics/Michael_Rouke) 1) had no obvious statement that the content was coved by CC-BY-SA 3.0 and 2) had a very obvious copyright statement. I've used this page as a model (http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/B._Clay_Moore), an author with the same publisher, and am I mistaken that I'm using the same kinds of sources? Mp3nity
[edit]Hey NawlinWiki, Why did you just delete the page for Mp3nity? I spent like 3 hours working on it. Not cool man. It's a legitime software that's widely used. Last time I checked, it's not against WikiPedia to have software listings, in fact, go and check all these categories:
- Category:Tag editors
- Category:Windows media players
- Category:Audio format converters
- Category:Windows CD ripping software
- Category:Windows software
If you want to start deleting, please delete all of the articles that belong to those categories, because all those pages appeared to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group or service and which is unlikely to be suitable for an article. In fact they are more so. Please go check. Or put my article back, Mp3nity fits in the way they are all already accepted, or I don't know how this works, should I re-write it?

- Because it didn't indicate that this website was notable per WP:WEB. NawlinWiki (talk) 21:35, 12 November 2010 (UTC)
Hello! You probably didn't notice this, but I'd already declined the same user's speedy deletion request.
He/she is correct in stating that the page was created in the wrong namespace accidentally. This has occurred several times, which is why I redirected it to the intended location instead of deleting it again. (Otherwise, it will continue to be recreated, unless we salt it, in which case users will be unable to find the intended sandbox.)
The redirect was harmless (because cross-namespace redirects are excluded from the "random article" pool, as I noted in my edit summary), so I don't understand why Timneu22 re-tagged it. (And his/her citation of CSD R3 was invalid; the page has continually been created by users seeking Wikipedia:Main Page/sandbox, which demonstrates that the redirect was plausible.) Deletion of "property auctions"
[edit]I am not clear as to why this page was deleted. It was flagged as "advertising" but was factual and referred to a number of different companies / sites that are involved in relation to the article.
Can you advise what specifically is inappropriate in this article. I did read the guidelines first.
Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Vincet1980 (talk • contribs) 22:42, 12 November 2010 (UTC)

Hung to
[edit]Hi, I was just in discussion on IRC about this article. There are some related books and sources so this might not be a hoax - for example Valentine, Bill (1995), Gang intelligence manual: identifying and understanding modern-day violent gangs in the United States, Paladin Press, ISBN 9780873648448 does discuss the "Wo Hop To" Triad. Would undelete be possible for the creator to add some sources or is there something else about the background I have missed. Thanks, Fæ (talk) 12:53, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
- Well, you always want to be careful when allowing an article accusing a person or group of being a criminal. But I will undelete and prod instead. NawlinWiki (talk) 12:54, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
- Your instincts are good. After further discussion on IRC, the user would be happy with userfication. I have explained that even in a draft form there should be no unsourced claims relating to living people and created a (heavily trimmed) draft at User:Hungtoo/Hung To. I'll put the article under CSD again. Fæ (talk) 13:26, 13 November 2010 (UTC)

Mistaken deletion?
[edit]You deleted Talk:Eno River Unitarian Universalist Fellowship under the G8 criterion; however, Eno River Unitarian Universalist Fellowship does exist. I'm guessing this was just a goof. LadyofShalott 03:09, 16 November 2010 (UTC)

mistaken deletion
[edit]==gristrealism== should not have been deleted it is an art movement, on what grounds? yours did not make any sense , no one was trying to sell anything, and it is significant because you have NO information on the subject. If this site is about research it should have all old and current and future art styles included. read the article next time.. {{...on}} means nothing obviously when you delete the talk page without a response. but g11 & a3 & a7, no significance to you, do you know what a painting is? who dali, picasso or ever been to a museum, or is it just wikipedia screens that entertain.. get on the train of current art movements or left at the station, wikipedia wont be happy they werent there from the start.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Romanpaints (talk • contribs)
- "wikipedia wont be happy they werent there from the start" - That's not how Wikipedia works. We wait for others to publish first, and then we cite the sources. LadyofShalott 05:38, 16 November 2010 (UTC)
hypnodieting deleted
[edit]Hi buddy, thanks for telling me why my article was deleted. Think I've got it now; I'm gonna try to dig up some reliable, third-party sources and resubmit the article. Or should I make it a stub? It's pretty short. ```` —Preceding unsigned comment added by KeithEKimball (talk • contribs) 21:19, 16 November 2010 (UTC)
- Even stubs need reliable independent sources per WP:V. NawlinWiki (talk) 21:20, 16 November 2010 (UTC)

Hullo NawlinWiki. I've tried revamping the article: http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Hypnodieting_Limited I'd be particularly interested in your take if you've got a minute. (ha ha, admins having a minute to spare, right?)[Keith E. Kimball] talk] 23:15, 16 November 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by KeithEKimball (talk • contribs)
- Well, it again looks like your sources are showing the notability of the use of hypnotherapy for dieting -- but not the notability of this specific company. That's a big difference. We already have an article on hypnotherapy, and I think your sources and discussion of its uses in dieting would be a good addition to that article, but I don't think you have shown that Hypnodieting Limited is itself notable per WP:CORP. It's not enough to be a company that works in a notable field. Thanks, NawlinWiki (talk) 12:35, 17 November 2010 (UTC)
IFI
[edit]I do not support the merger. Normally such a program should be merged. However there has been a lot of media coverage over the University of Pennsylvania study. Not just the Houston Press article. I'm looking for the exact locations of many sources. WhisperToMe (talk) 18:45, 17 November 2010 (UTC)
- But there really isn't much description of the IFI program itself. Why not move the whole thing to a subhead in the main article, with a redirect remaining? NawlinWiki (talk) 18:47, 17 November 2010 (UTC)
- 1. If you want the actual program described, then one can use primary sources (as in the organization's website) and secondary sources that describe the program and simply add the material in. But...
- 2. What makes the IFI deserve its own article is the study and its interpretations by various media figures (as I work on the article, you will see what I mean). Putting all of that in an article about the main organization (PFM) would weigh it down too much. Plus there were court cases about IFI programs operated in prisons in other states.
- 3. I haven't independently determined how Prison Fellowship Ministries and Prison Fellowship International are related (they have separate websites)
- WhisperToMe (talk) 18:58, 17 November 2010 (UTC)
- Alright, Prison Fellowship International is the Colson organization. I'll link to IFI from the PFI page. WhisperToMe (talk) 19:23, 17 November 2010 (UTC)

[edit]The page was put up for speedy deletion. Can you guide me on development of better page. Is it a prerequisite for contributor to know html for creating articles? 13:26, 24 November 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Badrsiddiqui (talk • contribs)
As I am predicting it to snow, I would respectfully ask that you consider a withdrawal of your nomination. While yes, the current article had one source, the many more availbale would simply encourage improvements through regular editing, not deletion. Some of these include coverage by Time Magazine New York Times Cinema Blend BBC News Observer and quite a few others. Best regards, Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 04:42, 27 November 2010 (UTC)

Hey man!
[edit]I haven't so much as posted on anybody's talk page in a long time (in general, I rarely use WP anymore), I just deleted an article you'd deleted many months ago, saw your username, and thought I'd say hi! I hope all is well down in N'awlins- though I've still never been there, a good friend of mine goes to Tulane Law, so I've been thinking about making the trip. Ban of my Account on the English Wikipedia
[edit]Hello NawlinWiki,
I have been active on the German Wikipedia for 2 years and today I wanted to edit an article on the English Wikipedia. I just recognised today that you banned my account? May I ask why? My name is Makeslong on the German Wikipedia.

[edit]Thank you for cleaning up that user's garbage. I'll tell you, though, that you could have left it. I don't worry about idiotic insults. They only reflect on their poster, not on me. It's so very unfortunate that he's had his talk page privilege removed. I was hoping he would explain the term "queerhawk", which is one I hadn't heard before (being mostly ignorant of that lifestyle). :) ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 20:54, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
- Having been inspired by that cow, I'm thinking maybe to change my signature to البيسبول البق, which according to Google translate is a literal translation of my user ID. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 21:50, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
- This vandal (User:The abominable Wiki troll) gets off on seeing his bragging in edit summaries and in page histories - so I see no reason to leave them out there. I'm not sure why he's bragging, either - we all know that one can use open proxies to make vandal accounts which get blocked after a few minutes. So what? Vandalism at Peebles High School (Peeblesshire))
[edit]Hi NawlinWiki,
I looked at at the article Peebles High School (Peeblesshire) today and it seems to be highly infused with nonsense (although, perhaps not "patent nonsense", per WP standards). It appears that on February 4, there was actually a sane version of this article (341936424) and that on March 18, you restored it by reverting all the vandalism between those two dates. Well, apparently the vandalism continues and much of it is not detectable by bots. When editors have in good faith tried to revert some vandalism, they often appear to fix stuff that was actually not vandalism and leave the garbage. This article seems to be particularly susceptible to vandalism for some reason. I recognize that probably the article should just be restored back as you did it in March but the only two ways I know to do it is to "undo" all the edits since then or simply copy the last known good version over as a revision on the current, flawed, version. The first approach sounds tedious and the second, I am guessing, would attract the good-intentioned attention of a bot that would then revert it to nonsense again. Shall I just do the copy over, recognizing that I could do it again after the bot reverts and that the bot then will leave it alone? If you have a better way and are inclined to do it, please do so. Thanks. --Grandpa jlc (talk) 15:45, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
