Images are going to become more scarce on wikipedia

"Screen shots in lists of episodes" is not the same things as using some album cover pictures in an article right above the name (and link to) of said album. As far as fair use goes, I also disagree with that. I don't believe that those album covers are being used in a soley decorative puprose on this page (or others, such as Death and I believe that they do, in fact, add to the article. The whole fair use things is getting ridiculous. Eventually wikipedia will have no pictures at all as they'll all be scrapped as "unencyclopedic." I understand fair use and the reason it is needed, but where do we draw the line? The problem with that policy is that it doesn't state clearly enough any line. Yes, we should not just plaster pictures everywhere for decorative purposes alone, but if a picture pertains to an article then bam, it should be in. We don't wanna overkill with the picture but I don't think we should necceasrily just get rid of them all. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 23:11, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

If you have image questions (I'm not the best guy, I rarely do image deletions as I have hardly any clue) then the best place is here: Wikipedia:Image copyright help desk. They'll advise you much more than I ever could. Hope this helps! ScarianCall me Pat! 23:29, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

Morbid Saint

Yo. Well, of course I know it is true (ha ha) but as for references, I am also trying to find some. Evidence of course is found at http://www.pcmdusa.com/ms/, which is a site maintained by Tony Paletti, the former bass player of MS. I also think he now has the domain morbidsaint.com with the same info - basically flyers and ticket stubs that show MS opening for Death. As for quotes and references, this ain't easy - like you, I'm aware that the treasure trove of Chuck interviews are at emptywords but it is a bitch to go through every, single one. There are passing references to the Morbid Saint-Death connection at various websites, but they are all in the same league with Metal Archives, etc. (such as http://www.metalmania.net/showband.php?bid=5571). So, where do we go from here? Did someone actually challenge use of that reference? Maybe I'll get interviewed and will mention it, or else ask Borivoj (who runs blabbermouth) to write about MS and mention CS & Death (since he was there and knew the connection as well as anybody). :) A Sniper 20:26, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

CorpseFucking Art (C.F.A.) are an Brutal Death Metal/ deathgrind band, from Italy formed in 1993. Their lyrics focuses mainly on gore and Humor.

Biography

The band was formed in Rome in 1993. With the first line-up (Max - gurgling, Andrea - guitars, Fabio - bass, Marco - drums) under a different name Enthralment and recorded their first demo called Eulogy Of Burning Christ. The official sound was a slow and brutal death-metal influenced by Immolation and Incantation.

Cryptic Soul Productions signed Enthralment released the 7" Accursed In Divinity. However. the sound contained in the new tracks were defenitely more brutal oriented. As the musical direction was no longer the same as the beginning, it was useless to keep the old name. The one choosen for this new form of madness was Corpsegod. With a different name but same line-up, they recorded in 1995 the mini cd Opinion About Sorrow released by Torture Records. The mini cd contained 5 tracks of original and strange brutal death-metal. Ultrabrutal riffing with techno and industrial parts, splatter movies - Opinion About Sorrow a really vanguard record compared to the others on the death-metal scene.

Though, the passion for the ultrabrutal death-metal in the band was getting higher and higher. The old line-up went to create a new band totally devoted to the brutal death-metal without compromises. A new band was born then, Corpsefucking Art. From the old line-up Andrea and Max were still there. After recording a 2 tracks promo with the new line up (Massimo - guitar, Marcello - drums, Edo - bass) and the track Molesting The Corpse for the underground splatter movie Sick-o-pathic soundtrack. The band played as support for Cannibal Corpse and Immolation for a show in Rome. Corpsefucking Art recorded their debut CD named A Puzzle Of Flesh for the italian label Sterminio Productions. Nine tracks of blasting ultrabrutal death-metal without mercy. An inhuman voice and a blasting riffing made A Puzzle Of Flesh known in the underground.

In 2001 the line-up changed again. Andrea the only member from the first line up joined up with Marco (bass) and Stuart (drums). They recorded a new split CD with Goretrade Zombiecronomicon distributed by Coagulated Records. In april 2002, United Guttural Records took the license by Coagulated records and restamped the split cd with Goretrade, released with a completely new artwork.

After being offered a contract by Forever Underground, Corpsefucking Art entered the studio to record their new full length Splatter Deluxe with the new second guitarist Marco Riccardi. Between the recording and the long wait to the new cd to be out, the band takes part in a lot of live performances including festival in Frankfurt with Lividity, Gorerotted, Inhumate, Pigstry, Nunwhore Commando 666, Mastic Scum, Master and Damnable and the rest of Europe in places like Sweden, France and Italy. The band is currently, in 2008, recording a new studio album and is aspected to come out early 2009.

Sunn O))) and black metal

Hey dude, recently noticed that you reverted my edit to the Sunn O))) article - to be honest, the only two albums I have by them are White1 and White2; but in my humble opinion, I can't say that either really have much black metal (or black metal 'themes', shall we say) throughout the songs. Am I correct in assuming that their other albums would show such influences? I've heard that the White albums are meant to be different; but as far as I realise, the closest that either of the two albums comes to black metal is the fact that Attila Csihar appears on White2. ≈ The Haunted Angel 21:37, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Ah I see, well I'll take your word for it then :) ≈ The Haunted Angel 22:02, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Re: Genre delimiters

I am changing them to a more overseeable, less space consuming, and therefor cleaner version, so i don't see how the summary is in any way illusive. Let me see the consensus you are talking about. Niderbib (talk) 11:32, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

Well, you seem more reasonable now than i told. Nevertheless, you could also just leave them comma seperated and see if anyone else cares? It's just the same all over again. ~ twsx | talkcont | ~ 08:56, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

Code Red: Help with Mission XX2 - codename:- Corpsefucking Art

Well, I don't know how to 'sandobx' things nor fancy linking, so I just saved it on my document server and placed it within your message service, so I can just copy it again and do it quickly...cuz last time is took be FOREVER to write that. Some of it was copied but i mean, what the fuck? I changed bits? I changed into english and then made it correct english. what more do they want? facists...

Oh and couple of questions: Do you need all the sentences to be our own words? or only some? and footnotes? need them?

So we need foot notes and refrences from their website to make it 'notable'. erm so yeah, and look at the biography, that's the main copyright issue. I change it offline and give it to you via here...as I don't know what a sandobx is. Might be a ammunition code name for a desert eagle lol. The US army calls those pistols sandguns cuz they move fast. Wonder if that is it...mmm..anyways, I change the biography now and tomorrow and give it to you 1800 or later hours ASAP on wednesday. :) Sorry I just been watching an army film called Right out of Hell quality film, oh and then after watching Resident Evil: Extinction which is gripping and just another Horror film with zombies in there. I am rambling as you may of noticed:

Summary

  • Me = do biography offline

Howdy. Not a problem - ax that info. I guess the rationale was to keep people like the latest vandal from making bootleg remarks about Keltic, but it didn't work anyway. Take it easy, A Sniper (talk) 01:54, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for creating the sandgun box thingy ma bob. hehe.

erm, I am trying to make my talk page better, and trying to have the click here thing but it ant working it goes Error: METALFREAK04 is not a username for Wikipedia but i am?

And the version is up on the sandbox now...screw the 1800 hour pass time! :)

Also, you should put my poems in your' section up there hehe. :)

Viogression

I was talking with Brian Deneffe, former singer/songwriter of Viogression (and Cynic, right at the end). Thought perhaps a brief Viogression page made sense. What do you think? They did do a world tour with Death, and had two albums, so I imagine they pass the notability test. A Sniper (talk) 21:29, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

Of COURSE you can help - you can start it even! Whatever you want to contribute would be much appreciated. I have NO photos or anything myself, so stuff will have to be found on the net. Brian just started www.myspace.com/officialviogression which has tracks posted, and some photos. He also has a youtube link to one live song from the Death Human tour (with me announcing, looking foolishly like Dave Vincent)  ;) A Sniper (talk) 21:45, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

Script part 2

OK, I've finished the script, I had some trouble making it work with Internet Explorer (I'm a Firefox user). I'll try to explain what it does in detail. You know monobook.js? It's a wikipedia user page where you can put some javascript code. It enables you to customize standard wikipedia behaviour. I use Twinkle for example. By adding my script to your monobook.js page the following will happen: The musical artist infoboxes will look different (only for logged in users who have copied my script to their monobook.js). Comma separated values will look as they where line break separated (however the wiki code will be left untouched, upon editing you'll see the commas)

Details:
1) For each header in the musical artist infobox commas can be changed to line breaks. (Tested on Alias, Genre, Years active, Label, Associated acts, Occupation and Instrument).
2) For Genre additional formatting can be enabled. It will capitalize the first character and make the rest lower case (symphonic Black metal -> Symphonic black metal, HardCOre Punk -> Hardcore punk). Genres NWOBHM, R&B, IDM, New Wave, Hi-NRG and comments see below, various, various others will be left untouched.
3) For Years active additional formatting can be enabled. It will change most formats (xxxx – xxxx, xxxx-xxxx, xxxx – xxxx, etc) to xxxx−xxxx as per WP:DATE but leave small comments (like the one on the The Who page) untouched.

Default configuration is:
Alias (commas to line breaks)
Genre (commas to line breaks, capitalization)
Years active (commas to line breaks, dash format)
Label (commas to line breaks)
Associated acts (commas to line breaks)
Occupation (commas to line breaks, capitalization)
Instrument (commas to line breaks, capitalization)

Would you like try it/test it? If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask them. Kameejl (Talk) 09:44, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

Talk Page

I am trying to get an introduction sort of template and a 'click here' section so that it goes to the editing page, like this one. So , it will be easier for newbies to talk to me or anyone for that matter. :)

Poems, :) That I have made, I have put some of my story blurbs up but poems yet. But when I do, you can have them in your' funnies.

Also, yeah, can you edit my snadbox to? or is that a no no? Becuase sometimes I cannot not see things that are wrong, it's part of dephraxia. also the lost in concentration....oh look a bird!

Good day! METALFREAK04 (talk) 12:27, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

Re:Vandal protection

No problem. :) It's better that someone else reverts it than the one that got vandalised to help take it out of their hands. That editor had his name changed but in my opinion I think it should of been debunked because of his harassment with others (which is not the wiki-way btw). Heh, thanks, I will have fun with it. :) I took some things from yours but made it my own as I was bold one day and decided to change it (although I would love to see someone come by and make the contents section show up like the archives currently is (no ToChide template)) and also fix that border problem with the archives box. My titles are actually titles you would most likely find in Bal-Sagoth's productions, I think they're awesomely epic, plus they have ridiculously long title songs. :) −₪ÇɨгcaғucɨҲ₪ kaiden 01:01, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

The Great One!

I dont really have a problem, i just dont like you very much, u see i dont make many edits and im not one to taddle tale on vandels, and do u know the reason 4 that? its because i have this little thing called a life, i log on every now and again and make a few edits and for some reason when i do i find that some loser has got something to say to me, attacking my views on subjects that are of no concern to them, they dont care about subjects yet they go to the page to complain about the page itself "disturbed are shit" "Motorhead are not metal" and i shoot em down for that, then some faggots have a problem with me telling them that. and now u have done that, i made my peice then thought "why should i listen to a poofter like him" so here i am again, u are a faggot nerd burger! u have managed to make me h8 u without me even knowing u, u are the biggest poofter bogan i have ever encountered on wiipedia and to be honest, if i had the chance i would probably cripple u! go back to ur gay orgy! go root ur mums boyfriend u fat sack of nerd shit!. kind regards ---The Great One 01:30, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

Well, I see your spelling and grammar has greatly improved since we last talked. Why, I think I may be able to understand you now. Are you a child? You say, "im not one to taddle tale on vandels" as if that's a good thing. Personally I would get rid of all vandals on wikipedia, but I guess you wouldn't. So then, you would prefer wikipedia to be shitty and not a useful encylopedia? If you must know, I also have a "life," one which does not consist of wasting my time talking to idiots. I get on wikipedia every day, though not during the weekends, because I have something called "free time" at my college between classes. I don't understand you. You say, "and now u have done that," but what have I done? I've never said "Disturbed are shit" or "Motorhead aren't metal" or anything like that. Also, I'm quite positive I know quite a bit more than you about metal. I see you still like to name call like a tiny infant ("faggot nerd burger"???WTF?). Well, I'm sorry that I made you resort to saying "u have managed to make me h8 u without me even knowing u" and calling me a "poofter bogan," w/e the hell that is. But you see I have a little something called an "I don't give a flying fuck" attitude. And I'm still also not sure how your dumbass manages to breathe! If anyone's gay here, it ain't me, ya dipshit retarded fag. Best of luck with that brain and sex surgery! Cheers!! Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 21:06, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
Well i see you think that u are infact better then me, well heres the deal, ..... you know what, screw it, ill leave u to believe what u want, "i know more about metal then u" oh yeah buddy well u must be so much awsome, u r so cool i wish u were my friend! because u know everything about everything dont u, well congrats, hows this sound, tell all ur "friends" that ur not doing there homework and see who is ur m8 then. and whats this "i dont give a flying fuck" what are u a retard, heres the deal, u cant fly and u for sure dont get fucked, so go root ur pet frog u fucking homo cunt!
I like where this is going. =) ~ twsx | talkcont | ~ 09:18, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Oh joy, you decided to be more uncivil again and got blocked. What do you mean I suddenly acted like a man? Because I insulted you back? I take no pride in that. What you need to learn is that wikipedia is not the place for insults (and neither is real life for that matter). The only reason I insulted you back was because you pissed me off enough and we all have breaking limits. Plus, I've been wanting to insult you back for a long time, I just stopped myself. I happen to be quite good at come backs and even with the last message I restrained myself and didn't fully fly off the handle. I, personally, don't want to be blocked because I actually want to contribute something to this site. That's what you don't seem to understand. Wikipedia (and life) is about contributing and trying to make things better (or suffer through them) but it's not a place for insults. So don't insult others and if someone insults you it's best to ignore it. If you did that shit in real life, someone would knock your teeth out (at the very least) real quick. I realize I don't know your "level of understanding" on the subject of heavy metal, but I usually just happen to know more about it than most. Yes, it's possible you may know more than me about metal, but I doubt it. I know a lot about its history, the genres, bands, etc. Also, if your spelling is any indicator of knowledge...well I won't go there as I'm trying to avoid being insulting, something you can apparently not do. *Laughs* I don't know "everything about everything" and I certainly don't do others' homework (hell, I don't even do mine sometimes). My friends are none of your business, but I assure you, they are my friends because they want to be and not because I do any favors for them. Most of my friends don't even go to my college, so how could I do their homework? And for that matter, no one's ever asked me to do their homework and I wouldn't even if they did ask. Oh please, I said "I don't give a flying fuck," and you're going to take that literally and say, "oohhh you can't fly and you don't get fucked!" Stop being childish, I could easily make fun of your insults. Grow up, please, and don't try and mess with other people on wikipedia, because in real life you'd get your ass beat if you talked such shit to people. Also, we on wikipedia are trying to be productive and you are interfering with that. I really want to insult you, some more and really make you look like a fool (although I don't think I need much help in that area) but I will hold back. Be thankful. And please cease these childish behaviors of yours. Thanks. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 19:55, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

And in response to TWSX: Yes, it's hilarious. I have a hard time believing he even has any friends, but w/e. And there's nothing "Great" about him or his vocabulary. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 19:55, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Civility

With regards to this comment, incivility and personal attacks towards you is not license to return it. Please desist from being uncivil. Thank you. seresin ( ¡? ) 03:43, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

I know, I know. Well I assure, I am not uncivil, and even when someone is uncivil to me I suaually ignore it. But this user has done this more than once to me for no reason and he was still allowed to change his name and has continued (for seemingly no reason; I still don't know what I did to piss him off). So seeing as how no action has been taken against him i feel compelled to throw a tiny bit of those insults back. As you can see, though, I was much more constructive and smart about it (you can even read what I'm saying and comprehend it). I also held back a great deal and didn't let the real shit fly, so-to-speak. Sorry. But I assure you I am wise to the ways of wikipedia and know what is appropriate and not. Just couldn't resist this once. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 21:11, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
Well, since you obviously cannot control yourself, consider this your final warning. seresin ( ¡? ) 22:16, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
Yes, sir =). As I said I know wikipedia's rules intimately and have no intention of breaking them, but when people start insulting me for no reason and acting childish (and not get some sort of punitive or preventitive actions taken against them) I get a little upset, and I'm very good at come backs. But I have no intention of harming wikipedia! I work to serve wikipedia and make it better! Cheers. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 22:19, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
I strongly encourage you to disengage from your dispute with The Great One. No good will come of it, and it isn't serving any constructive purpose. seresin ( ¡? ) 22:05, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
I hear you. I don't even want to talk to the guy. He started this a long time ago and has been blocked a couple times for insulting me and I told him to leave me alone and he waited a few months and then did it again, and I couldn't stand it anymore. Trust me, this crap just takes more time out of my editing and it pisses me off. If he leaves me alone then there will be no problem. I don't intend to pursue anything with him. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 22:11, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
Also, thanks for the vandalism reversion on my user page. The Great One should really be blocked indefinitely as he has shown himself to be an unproductive user with incivil tendencies (and not just to me...) and has vandalized quite a few times. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 23:12, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

ANI discussion

Just to let you know, a discussion has begun concerning you at WP:ANI. You're welcome to comment there. Equazcion /C 00:19, 15 Apr 2008 (UTC)

your warning

It is considered bad form to template warn long-standing users. I am an admin and a meta admin doing cleanup work related to the spam blacklist. Guy (Help!) 06:50, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

That is an essay, not policy. Also, you still never explained why you blacklisted those links. I admit I don't know much about blacklisting links or any of that, but those links seemed perfectly fine to me. They weren't spam. They actually concerned King Diamond (I believe that was another user that was removing KD links), Eric Greif, etc. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 23:17, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
So to sum up, you don't see anything wrong with issuing template warnings to people who know about something you don't. See the other notes on this page for some evidence that the problem here may be you, not everyone else. Guy (Help!) 06:33, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

Warning?

Excuse me, but perhaps you would like to read this before issuing inappropriate warnings. There is clearly no "General consensus... to leave genre delimiters as they are for now" as you state it. Nouse4aname (talk) 07:52, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Inetersting, I have also just read this concerning you...it seems I will be ignoring your "warning". Nouse4aname (talk) 07:54, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
If there was in fact a consensus as you suggest, then it would be incoproated into the guidlines at the above link. As it stands, the guidlines suggest the opposite to your position, and so I will abide by them. Nouse4aname (talk) 08:11, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
I think I now see what you are referring to: Template:Infobox_Musical_artist#Genre. However, this applies only to musician infoboxes, and not to album infoboxes. For albums, a consensus was reached to use commas, hence this is what is used on such articles. I hope this clears things up. Cheers Nouse4aname (talk) 10:33, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

Solution to Greif Page debacle?

I see that you did an edit over on the Grief article and left this explanation: "whoa who messed this page up so bad? relax people! No need to revert the whole article!" Since you didn't post on the discussion page any further explanation, I thought I would come over here and we could discuss and try to come up with a solution if that is agreeable to you. I hear what you are saying about not reverting the whole article, BTW I did not do that, another user did. I personally had no problem with his edit. The problem is this: The Greif page has been up for almost a year now and there is still a serious lack of verifiable sourcing. Most if not all of the sources that he actually sites, when he does actually site sources are simply relatively obscure website interviews with Mr. Grief himself? So his sources are himself? Making claims about himself? If the page stays up, where is the motivation for him to actually come up with some credible sources? I think all unsourced material needs to come down and then as sources are found for each section requiring it (if in fact they can be found) they can be reposted. Let me know what you think. Jackmantas (talk) 01:47, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

I was the user who eliminated all the text. The "sources" included things like misspelled one-word mentions. Please see WP:BLP for this is a large concern. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 06:13, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
I have responded on Jackmantas's talk page. As for your comment, Ricky81682 I would only urge you to not be so quick to destroy the article as I'm sure everything in there can be sourced. Most are obvious facts, like the fact that he managed Schuldiner and Death, and you removing them doesn't help. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 20:32, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

Keyboards in Black metal

Hi Navnløs, I have reverted your deletion of the "keyboards" in the Black metal article. Although it is true that a lot of BM bands do not use keyboards, a lot of them actually use this instrument for atmospheric reasons. I am aware that the use of keyboards is often frowned upon by some fans and acts (for example Skyforger implicitally (and proudly) writes in some album sleeves that no keyboards have been used), but a fact is that the some of the most well-known BM-acts frequently use keyboards. Dimmu Borgir, Emperor and Immortal for example. And even Mayhem on the album Grand Declaration of War does not have clean hands. But also other bands, such as Morgul, Siebenbürgen, The Kovenant, Borknagar, Thyrfing, Solefald, Falkenbach, …And Oceans, Satyricon, Vintersorg, Troll, to name but a few, are using keyboards. Of course, one can debate the black-metal-ness of some of these acts, but it is a mere fact that keyboards are frequently incorporated in BM-music. User:Brynnar/sig 08:25, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
