License tagging for Image:Clyde1860.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Clyde1860.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 06:05, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
Image tagging for Image:Madagascar1837.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Madagascar1837.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

Hi mate, if you're a fan of Aussie rules, I suggest you take a look at WikiProject AFL (join by adding your name to the list of participants). Also take a look at Category:VFL/AFL players and feel free to drop me a line with any questions, or on the WP:AFL discussion page. Cheers! |

Welcome
[edit]Hi Navarine, welcome to Wikipedia! I notice you have made some additions and changes to articles about towns and locations in Tasmania. Could you possibly add references for the details you are entering - see Wikipedia:Citing sources for the best way to do it, but if you aren't sure then just enter the details on the talk page for the article and someone will fix it up. Regards, Chuq 05:03, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
James Kelly
[edit]Would you not revert references - it is not appropriate to do so, they were the refs for the earlier format of the article - you simply add your refs - if you are new user - you must read the intro welcome material and realise that the article is not your own and if you are adding to what another editor has done does not give you the right to remove it if it is about the same item. SatuSuro 13:35, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
- The more I look at the James Kelly article I think it would be very beneficial if we exchanged a few ideas or so - I do hope my initial response to your article is not too harsh - there are some good parts - but I would like to go through some stuff if you are willing to do so...SatuSuro 14:32, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
- Part of what I would like to tell you about - and have a few comments about is what I have done to the currie article.... SatuSuro 15:12, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
Also
[edit]For a lot of your new articles - you need to read up about WP:Notability polices - as there can be the possibility of outside editors who are looking for reasons as to why a new article has any justification (and refs are a vital point there) and can easily tage your new articles and they go for deletion if insufficient notability or referencing occurs SatuSuro 13:37, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for your comments in your edit summaries
[edit]Are you unsure how to do talk at all? It would be good to prepare some of your stubs and insure them against unfriendly visits...SatuSuro 12:54, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
First
[edit]- Please have a look at Wikipedia:WikiProject Australian maritime history - we really do need a Tasmanian for some input on that one!
- then maybe Wikipedia:WikiProject Tasmania - it is a bit quiet at the moment SatuSuro 02:06, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
Second
[edit]Found one - seee what happened at Australian Newsprint Mills.... Its a very tricky one as debates about them occur in obscure locations - WP:V and WP:N will challenge us with some of the stubs - we need to populate the articles/stubs with reasons to be here - references - and information - otherwise something worse than bots descend! SatuSuro 02:21, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
Third
[edit]We need a bio on Kerry Pink - have a look at Thomas Bather Moore as a basic bio stub example - did you ever meet him? SatuSuro 02:45, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

- To see that you are getting more confidence - however that categroy you created - did you check all the categories that we have identified in the Australian maritime history project? SatuSuro 12:52, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
- Wikipedia:WikiProject Australian maritime history/Categories - well worth a read...SatuSuro 13:03, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
Hi from me. I added Category:Ships of Australia cat into Category:Historic Ships of Australia as all cats must be a sub cat of at least one other. Also, it should really be Category:Historic ships of Australia (capitalisation fix). I can sort that out if you want. —Moondyne 12:45, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

Image source problem with Image:Ana-baggage-label.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Ana-baggage-label.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 13:29, 5 June 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 13:29, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

File:Carlton Ware Foxglove.jpg missing description details
[edit]If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.
If you have any questions please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 23:39, 15 November 2010 (UTC)Speedy deletion nomination of File:Carlton Ware Foxglove.jpg
[edit]A tag has been placed on File:Carlton Ware Foxglove.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ==Image copyright problem with File:CessationMedallion.jpg==
Thank you for uploading File:CessationMedallion.jpg.
This image is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such images would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a screenshot of a computer game or movie. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original image must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.
While the image description page states the source and copyright status of the derivative work, it only names the creator of the original work without specifying the status of their copyright over the work.
Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the original image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have uploaded other derivative works, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. Thanks again for your cooperation. Kelly hi! 05:03, 5 March 2013 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for December 8
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited De Havilland Dragon, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Innisfail (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

George Henry Purvis moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, George Henry Purvis, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Your draft article, Draft:George Henry Purvis
[edit]Hello, Navarine. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "George Henry Purvis".
In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply and remove the {{db-afc}}
, {{db-draft}}
, or {{db-g13}}
code.
If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.
Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. CptViraj (📧) 14:39, 15 June 2019 (UTC)
Australian National Airways
[edit]Thanks for your valuable additions to Australian National Airways on 7 July. I’m curious as to why you summarised the Menzies Government 1949–1966 as “Conservatives” (with a leading Capital C).
Menzies always denied the party was a Conservative Party; and the party’s opponents have always referred to it as a conservative party but that was, and is, a derogatory label.
I’m unaware of any objective ground for calling the Menzies Government “the Conservatives”. Can you explain? Dolphin (t) 13:45, 7 July 2019 (UTC)
I was using "Conservative" in comparison with the Chifley Government that preceded it. I might reword the entry to remove the potential argument...
Thanks. Your rewording has fine-tuned the paragraph. Dolphin (t) 22:04, 7 July 2019 (UTC)
