Hi, Nathrogers7 - welcome to Wikipedia. The reason I removed the Proposed Deletion policy, is that the article had been previously nominated for deletion, and so WP:PROD must not be used. Instead, nominate the article for deletion per WP:AFD. StAnselm (talk) 00:22, 2 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, StAnselm thanks for that will do.

I have removed the AfD tag because 1) it was mangled, and 2) the full process for nomination was not followed. Please see WP:AFDHOWTO and note that your nomination would be the second one for this article. Let me know if you require assistance. Thanks. --Finngall talk 16:32, 2 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Finngall it was not mangled and I have placed the correct code in the source page (i.e. previous nomination). Unless you are certain protocal has not been followed do not change this edit, thank you

Nathrogers7

Hi Nathrogers7! I hope your day is going well! :-) I'm just messaging you to let you know a few things:

First, I noticed that you created an AFD discussion here, but you didn't do so correctly or completely. I went ahead and fixed everything for you, but please take some time and make sure that you're proficient with how to properly create an AFD discussion before you create any more. Otherwise, the discussions won't be seen by anyone and will sit forever until someone notices, or they'll be incomplete and make things more difficult for other editors to participate and discuss.

Second, I noticed that you made two edits - one to Sigrid Holmwood and the other to Talk:Sigrid Holmwood today and while you were logged out from your account. This results in your IP address being displayed in Wikipedia logs and edit histories, instead of your account username ("Nathrogers7"). I went ahead and suppressed your IP address from those edits for you, so that your privacy doesn't become a concern.

If you have any questions, please let me know - just message me on my user talk page here and I'll be happy to help you. ;-) Cheers - ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 23:17, 15 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletions

[edit]

I see you have just nominated for speedy deletion a number of articles about leaders of major multinational companies under WP:A7, "No indication of importance". Just what do you think you are doing? Stop making such nonsensical nominations. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 06:54, 19 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • To respond to your message at my talk page...
    1. It's "notable", not "noteworthy". See WP:N.
    2. All that's needed to avoid WP:A7 is a claim that the person is "important or significant", so notability requirements do not even need to be met.
    3. At WP:NBUSINESSPEOPLE, it points out that "Corporate presidents, chief executive officers and chairpersons of the boards of directors of companies listed in the Fortune 500 (US) or the FTSE 100 Index (UK) are generally kept as notable".
    4. All bar one of these people were senior figures in major tobacco firms. Is that related to your reason for wanting their articles deleted?
    5. One of the ones you nominated for deletion under WP:A7 was Jan du Plessis. The lead says "Jan Petrus du Plessis (born 22 January 1954) is the non-executive chairman of BT Group, and is the former non-executive Chairman of Rio Tinto Group plc, and a former non-executive director of the Lloyds TSB Group. Du Plessis was placed tenth in The Times 2006 Power 100, a list which rates the most powerful people in British business". So chairman of two major FTSE 100 companies, non-exec director of a third, and tenth in The Times 2006 Power 100 list - yet you think there isn't a claim of importance or significance there? Oh, and he's also a member of the governing body of the International Chamber of Commerce UK. And, he has plenty of coverage in reliable sources.
    6. You also nominated Richard Burrows, chairman of a major FTSE 100 company, a former governor of the Bank of Ireland, and a Chevalier of the French Legion of Honour. No claims of importance there?
    7. Once a speedy deletion nomination has been declined, you must not reinstate it, but must proceed to WP:PROD or WP:AFD if you really think they should be deleted. I see that you reverted all my declines of your nominations, and someone else reverted you again. I'll tell you now that none of these articles would be deleted under PROD or AFD, so do not try those either.
  • If you make any further attempts to have these, or similar, articles, deleted, I will consider it deliberately disruptive and you will be blocked from editing. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 09:11, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • If it helps, as the editor who reverted three of your reinstated speedy deletion tags, I agree with everything that Boing! said Zebedee has written above. I have edited extensively in the area of business biographies over many years, and have had several of my article creations deleted, and have nominated 100s of business biographies for deletion. None of the articles you are seeking to have deleted have any prospect of being deleted. Edwardx (talk) 10:19, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
