Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Natedawggg84, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as User:Reverend Dr. R.R. Wilkinson, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's content policies and may not be retained. In short, the topic of an article must be notable and have already been the subject of publication by reliable and independent sources.

Please review Your first article for an overview of the article creation process. The Article Wizard is available to help you create an article, where it will be reviewed and considered for publication. For information on how to request a new article that can be created by someone else, see Requested articles. If you are stuck, come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can help you through the processes.

New to Wikipedia? Please consider taking a look at our introductory tutorial or reviewing the contributing to Wikipedia page to learn the basics about editing. Below are a few other good pages about article creation.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Query

[edit]

Hello, Natedawggg84,

What is your relationship with Reverend Dr. R.R. Wilkinson? Is this an alternate account? If so, you must declare it on your User page or your use or multiple accounts could be seen as sockpuppetry which could result in a loss of editing privileges. Please clarify this. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 02:19, 15 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Natedawggg84 (talk) 02:25, 15 December 2021 (UTC) Reverend. Dr. R.R. Wilkinson page was a alternate page that I really made by mistake because I was trying to rename my username. I know now that I should have just left it alone because now all my edit work is gone, and I am trying to retrieve my work that I had on the Dr. R.R. Wilkinson page.[reply]

Okay, I will restore this page and move it into Draft space. It was pretty blind that the editor who tagged this page couldn't see that it was an article draft. You shouldn't have used your User page for a draft but it was incorrect to delete it. I'll restore it and let you know where you can find it.
Two more things. Please submit your draft to Articles for Creation for review, if you move it directly into main space yourself, it could be deleted again. If it can pass approval of an AFC reviewer, it is much more likely to survive. Second, every time you leave a talk page message, end it with four tildes (~~~~) which will sign your message appropriately. I'll be right back. Liz Read! Talk! 02:31, 15 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, you can find it at Draft:Reverend Dr. R.R. Wilkinson. Please, please do not create any more user accounts, just use your main one, Natedawggg84. If you have any questions about article creation or Wikipedia policy, bring them to the Teahouse, where experienced editors can offer you help and support. Good luck. Liz Read! Talk! 02:35, 15 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
This is ridiculous, Natedawggg84, you cut & pasted the draft version into your sandbox so now you have two separate versions of this draft article. Why did you do this? This is not acceptable, please tag one of the pages for deletion. Liz Read! Talk! 03:40, 15 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation: Raymond Rogers Wilkinson (December 15)

[edit]
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted because it included copyrighted content, which is not permitted on Wikipedia. You are welcome to write an article on the subject, but please do not use copyrighted work. Rusalkii (talk) 05:40, 15 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Very interesting person and subject but this is copied almost entirely from the rrwilkinson site. I've requested that this page be deleted, but you can rewrite the page in your own words and resubmit. Rusalkii (talk) 05:41, 15 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Reverend Dr. R.R. Wilkinson requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.rrwilkinson.org/rev-rrwilkinson-protest-dump, https://www.rrwilkinson.org/integrate-woolworth-lunch-counters, and https://www.rrwilkinson.org/about/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read! Control copyright icon Hello Natedawggg84! While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 17:07, 15 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Natedawggg84,
Almost your entire article was taken from other webpages on the internet. Taking content, whether words or images, from other sources is not allowed on Wikipedia for legal reasons. Next time, write an article entirely in your own words or get permission from the copyright holder. If you wrote the content on that website, please follow the links above to give permission for its use on Wikipedia. Even if you wrote both the website content and the article content, Wikipedia needs your permission to donate it to this site. Liz Read! Talk! 17:19, 15 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
