Hello. Thanks for all the work on the Brent Mason page. He indeed sounds like quite a prolific artist. Please note that the first paragraph, or so-called lead paragraph has to adhere to certain guidelines. For an outline of these, see WP:LEAD, especially the section on Introductory Text and WP:OPENPARAGRAPH. Unfortunately, the previous one appeared to be too promotional, look for instance at the Eric Clapton page for an example of a good lead paragraph. Keep up the good work. - Thank you Karst for your message.
- It appears you have removed a reference made in the first paragraph of the Brent Mason article which references his induction in 2011 to the National Thumbpickers Hall of Fame with a link to the website of the NTPHF with his induction clearly stated under living thumb pickers. I have just quickly perused your edits and did not see this mentioned or moved to any other portion of the article. Why would this be removed when it is clearly supported?
- You also reference the lead paragraph of the Eric Clapton article. I see where in this lead paragraph it says "Clapton has been referred to as one of the most important and influential guitarists of all time.[1]" with only ONE REFERENCE to attest this fact. You keep deleting the sentence in Mr. Mason's lead paragraph which states he is one of the most recorded guitarists in history. I have included FIVE REFERENCES which state this fact and could definitely reference many more. What is the purpose of you deleting this - a true statement of a person who has worked for over thirty years in his career and deserves this mention? — Preceding unsigned comment added by NashvilleNow (talk • contribs) 21:46, 28 December 2014 (UTC)

- Apologies for the edit-error on the Thumbpickers, it has now been included in the wards section of the page.
- You're quite right in pointing towards the Eric Clapton reference. This is of course from Rolling Stone Magazine. You will also notice that the lead section starts with Clapton's name, date of birth, occupation and controversies. It should also highlight what makes him notable. And the Grammy Award is actually one of the more important ones. As are the two albums that he has produced. It ensures that the article falls under the WP:MUSIC criteria. This is what the lead paragraph is about. One aspect that can be added is some of the prominent artist that he has recorded with or who have performed his songs. That he has been in the music business for 30 years is certainly something that also can be mentioned. Hope this explains it all. Karst (talk) 12:28, 29 December 2014 (UTC)
