Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Dixygroupltd", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, service, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are permitted to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you individually (not your role), such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, service, or website, regardless of your username. Please also read our paid editing policy and our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please request a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, choosing a username that complies with our username policy. Alternatively, you can just create a new account and use that for editing. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. Hi Edward. I have requested a username change request. I have changed it to Naseer at Dixy Group Limited. Also, I am trying to email you in regards to the recent changes I made to Dixy Chicken Wikipedia page but unfortunatly for some reason it won't allow me to email you.
Dear Edward,
I trust this message finds you in good spirits. I wanted to reach out regarding the recent edits I made to the Dixy Chicken Wikipedia page, which were subsequently reverted.
The changes I made were aimed at providing accurate information regarding the ownership of the Dixy Chicken trademark. To substantiate my edits, I would like to direct your attention to the official UK Government website for the Intellectual Property Office, specifically to the page outlining the ownership of the trademark Dixy Chicken by SABT1 Limited (UK0002367430B). You can access the information directly via this link (Official UK Gov Website) : https://trademarks.ipo.gov.uk/ipo-tmcase/page/Results/1/UK0002367430B
Furthermore, a visit to the official UK Company House website corroborates this information, revealing that SABT1 Limited is indeed owned by Mr. Mohammed Ali Bhatti. Notably, within the same section detailing company personnel, you'll find that Shakeel Arshad has resigned from SABT1 Limited. You can access the information directly via this link (Official UK Gov Website) : https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/06858407/officers
In light of these facts, I believe the edits I made accurately reflected the current ownership structure of Dixy Chicken. To provide additional context, the official website for Dixy Chicken is Dixychicken.co.
I kindly request your reconsideration of these edits, as it is imperative that accurate and up-to-date information is presented on Wikipedia.
Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. I look forward to your response.
Warm regards, Dixy Chicken (talk) 17:13, 7 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Alas, these are all primary sources. You should propose any changes you would like to see made to Dixy Chicken at Talk:Dixy Chicken, where anyone can then comment. Edwardx (talk) 17:18, 7 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Edwardx,
Thank you for your guidance regarding my recent edits to the Dixy Chicken article and appreciate your advice.
Since your last message, I've propses any changes to Talk:Dixy Chicken. However, I'm a bit unsure about the correct procedure to reintroduce these changes. Is it acceptable for me to edit the article directly with the new references again? If so, can I undo the changes to revert back to  01:55, 7 April 2024‎ version?
I look forward to your advice on the best way to proceed.
Thank you! Dixy Chicken (talk) 20:24, 15 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
As I have said before these are all primary sources. Please read WP:PSTS to better understand the issue. Edwardx (talk) 22:15, 15 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello @Edwardx,
Thank you for your guidance on the use of primary versus secondary sources as outlined inWP:PSTS.
I appreciate your patience and assistance as I navigate the correct procedure for updating the Dixy Chicken Wikipedia page.
I understand the importance of secondary sources in ensuring Wikipedia’s content is reliable and verifiable. I intend to amend the proposed edits (April 7, 2024 changes) by omitting primary sources.
However, I would like to clarify whether the official company website, dixychicken.co, could be considered an acceptable source for straightforward factual information, such as confirming the current ownership—especially if there are no discrepancies about this information in public discourse. If so, I would like to make the same changes that I made on April 7, 2024 but leaving the primary sources (Gov websites links) out. I would like to reference the official company website as dixychicken.co and when mentioning the new owner Mr Mohammed Ali Bhatti - and reference it to https://dixychicken.co/meetowner/
Could you please let me know if it's acceptable for me to proceed with the proposed changes on the Dixy Chicken Wikipedia page?
Best regards,

Hi - you shouldn't really be editing that article directly, certainly not edit warring to make unsourced changes. I recommend finding some reliable sources to support the changes, the using an edit request to propose them on the talk page. Best Girth Summit (blether) 18:03, 4 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'll add that the website issue is somewhat confusing. You are trying to change the URL to a new one, but the old one is still live. How are we to know this isn't a hoax? I've seen stranger things happen around here... Girth Summit (blether) 18:15, 4 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I had a similar thought. After all, why would the company not wish to continue with "www.dixychicken.com" ? Edwardx (talk) 18:21, 4 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
