I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on discussion pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. I'm afraid I didn't understand your edits to this article, because you didn't leave any edit summaries, but also because you didn't cite any sources for your changes, I have reverted them. Please add reliable sources for any edits you make, especially to biographies. Thanks. Rodhullandemu 14:35, 9 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for getting back to me. I'm not sure his birth certificate would be usable here because of possible copyright problems- I'll look into that, but if it's already online somewhere, we could link to that. I've always known him as "Elkan Rex Makin" (because that's what his court records say). Regards, Rodhullandemu 14:42, 10 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Checked, the birth certificate is Crown Copyright, which means we can't use it here; meanwhile, I've had to protected my talk page because of vandalism, so you won't be able to reply there. I am watchlisting this page, so will see any responses you make make. Cheers. Rodhullandemu 15:13, 10 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

OK..well then give me an email address and I'll send you a copy then there can be no doubt.

I thought you were monitoring this page ? Why no answer?

Sorry, I am very busy on many fronts at present. With the best will in the world, it would not be enough for you to email Rex's birth certificate to me, because any biographical information should be verifiable by any reader, and that is why we cite sources. I did look yesterday in Google for the name on the birth certificate, but to no avail. Another problem is that even if we linked to [www.ancestry.co.uk], a popular source, there would be no confirmation that the birth certificate linked would be Rex's. Call me cautious, if you like, but this is why we have such policies, and I have no particular desire to be sued by Rex, given his able efforts on my behalf in the 1970s. I think unless you have a publicly available source, we must stick with those we have. Rodhullandemu 00:01, 13 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing because your account is being used only for vandalism, such as on the page Rex Makin. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.
