Demographics as of 2010 of the South End.

[edit]

Some demographic information I found on the City of Boston website in the Department of Neighborhood Development section states that as of 2010 the total population of the South End is 34,669 which is a 22.9% increase of 2000 when the population was only at 28, 220. It goes into further details by giving the percentage of different races that will be living in the South End. With whites being the majority in the South End at 49.5% followed by Black or African Americans at 17.1%, and Hispanic Latinos close behind at 16.6%.It's kind of eye opening that the difference between whites and the minority races is so high in the South End. But when you go further into the website you can see the median income of the South End is $51, 870 with the median rent is $2, 500 as of 2011. This website has a lot of demographic information on the South End that can be useful for when you're looking up information about living expenses in the South End and the overall population that is found there. Outline for the South End

[edit]

1. Demographics: I would write about the overall population of the South End, with race included. I would have two subsections on Income which would have information of the median income of the residents of the South End and also about the median cost of living in the South End. I would also have a subsection on the LGBT community since the South End has a high population of Gays and Lesbians. [2]

2. Community Resources: It would include Hospitals and Clinics that are available for the residents of the South End. I would also include local organizations, as well as schools that can be located in the South End.

3. Urban Policy; The South End already has Urban renewal so I could add more to that section.

4. Transportation: It would include bus lines and subway lines that go into the South End or are near the area. [3]

5. Restaurant and Retail: I would add a subsection that is of Entertainment/ Nightlife and give information on places that are very popular around the South End that are frequently visited. Also I would add more information about restaurants and retail stores that can be found in the area. N mancia20 (talk) 14:06, 3 March 2015 (UTC) N mancia20 (talk) 14:19, 3 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages.
