Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, NZMann, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Hardeep Singh Billu, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's content policies and may not be retained. In short, the topic of an article must be notable and have already been the subject of publication by reliable and independent sources.

Please review Your first article for an overview of the article creation process. The Article Wizard is available to help you create an article, where it will be reviewed and considered for publication. For information on how to request a new article that can be created by someone else, see Requested articles. If you are stuck, come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can help you through the processes.

New to Wikipedia? Please consider taking a look at the our introductory tutorial or reviewing the contributing to Wikipedia page to learn the basics about editing. Below are a few other good pages about article creation.

A tag has been placed on Hardeep Singh Billu requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Barinder Singh Jinder moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Barinder Singh Jinder, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Your edits were nothing but vandalism. I've reverted all, and it was a bit of a chore to do so. If you continue in this fashion, you risk being blocked.--Bbb23 (talk) 22:57, 5 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Bbb23: Sorry, my intention is not to vandalise, it is to contribute. NZMann (talk) 23:03, 5 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, NZMann. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Supreme Sikh Society of New Zealand, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Bbb23 (talk) 22:59, 5 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Bbb23: I sincerely declare that I am not paid by the Supreme Sikh Society of New Zealand or anyone else to write any article on Wikipedia. I understand that on Wikipedia, we want articles that are reliable, therefore, I do my best to find and add the most reliable information backed by reliable sources. The Supreme Sikh Society of New Zealand has had regular coverage in the NZ media lately, therefore, I thought I'd create and improve a Wikipedia article about them. My intention is to contribute. This is the latest documentary about the Society and its service: www.tvnz.co.nz/shows/sunday/clips/time-of-need NZMann (talk) 23:17, 5 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Even if you are not paid, I have trouble believing that you are not affiliated with the Society in some way. You haven't just created an article about them. You've attempted to create multiple articles related to them and fought very hard, sometimes in disruptive ways, to keep those articles.--Bbb23 (talk) 00:16, 6 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
