Speedy deletion nomination of Momi cafe
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Momi cafe requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. – Richard BB 01:54, 19 September 2011 (UTC)
Welcome to Wikipedia, thank you for taking the time to create a page here. It might not have been your intention, but you recently removed a speedy deletion tag from a page you created yourself. Because Wikipedia policy does not allow the creator of the page to remove deletion tags, an automated program has replaced the deletion tag you removed from Momi cafe. Please do not continue to remove the deletion tag, instead, if you disagree with the deletion, you can follow these steps:
- Go to the page by clicking this link. Once there, select the button that says Click here to contest this speedy deletion.
- This will take you to the talk page, where you can make your case by explaining why the page does not meet Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion.
Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do. For further help about the deletion, you could contact the user who first placed the tag or a highly active user who is willingly to help with deletion. This message was left by a bot, so please do not contact the bot about the deletion. Thank you, - SDPatrolBot (talk) 08:51, 19 September 2011 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Momi Cafe, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

Problems with Momi Cafe, Momi cafe and Maodetiankongzhicheng
[edit]Hi!
I can see that two of the articles you started have been started have been speedily deleted:
- 13:57, 20 September 2011 JamesBWatson (talk | contribs) deleted "Momi Cafe" (G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion)
- 13:27, 19 September 2011 Lectonar (talk | contribs) deleted "Momi cafe" (G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion)
- 07:27, 21 September 2011 Lectonar (talk | contribs) deleted "Momi cafe" (it is still essentially an advertisement; notability is also not established. Btw, it is probably a good place to "hang out", but that does not make it encyclopedic.)
I can see you have started another one, Maodetiankongzhicheng. Unfortunately, that might well be speedily deleted too, and for the same reasons.
From what I can see, there are a number of "猫的天空之城" (that looks like "Cat's sky's Castle" to me, btw) cafes. Obviously there is one in Suzhou, but from here it appears there are quite a few others. There are any number of cafe chains and any number of bookstore chains. What appears and the most interesting thing about Momi is the postcards. This could mean that the article is not about "just another cafe" or bookshop, but about something that makes it stands out, or in Wikipedia terms, is notable. (I must admit, it's drawing a long bow , but anyways. Hey, I can read one of the postcards: Tonari no Totoro...)
A question: where does the name "Momi" come from? It's not anywhere in "Māo de tiānkōng zhī chéng". Is it simply what the 猫的天空之城 cafes are called in English and not any kind of transliteration?
Oo-roo! --Shirt58 (talk) 07:24, 22 September 2011 (UTC)
- Hi!shirt58 I'm sorry ,I didn't see your message until now for I'm busy these days.
- I'm so happy and thankful that you can leave a message for me.I have been very distressed these days for my article being deleted for so many times, but I really want to introduce it to everyone because it really deserves to visit and I'm not advertising. This cafe is very popular now and Suzhou is also my hometown and I want to introduce something interesting instead of the places of interest. But, you see, I failed for so many times. It depressed me so much.
- So, can you help me with my article? I don't know how to change it and I have changed many points that I think are like advertising but wiki still think it's like an advertisement. Should I say more about the postcard wall and delete something to make the postcard wall outstanding?
- As for your question, momi is an way of calling cats in China. In chinese, we call cats maomi(猫咪), and momi is similar to maomi. Actually, this shop is also famous for 2 cats. And the English name of maodetiankongzhicheng is Momi Cafe which is translated by the shopkeeper maybe and I don't see other ways of translating until now.
- Hayao Miyazaki has published a series of comic which is also called maodetiankongzhicheng but I think there's no relationship with the Momi Cafe, just the same name.
- And you can search many things on the Internet about Momi Cafe because the cafe's shopkeeper designs many little things such as postcards pendants by himself and maybe he also sells them online or someone elso makes something similar to make money.
- finally, I'm really thankful that you can give me some suggestions and pay attention to my articles.

- Quick response - thanks for your reply, NNU-12-22100555! (NB: My personal policy about responding to any WP:NNU contributor is to use completely colloquial English. Which IMO is one very important aspect of the whole NNU project. Your mileage may vary.)
- Hey, I've had articles I added to wiki.riteme.site deleted, and I'm a "native speaker" of English. It's no big problem. Please don't let the previous deletions put you off contributing. Need to go to sleep and wake up for work, so I can't fully address this.
- One thing: if you could you possibly start an article along the lines of zh.wikipedia.org, that would most helpful indeed.

Kunshi
[edit]Dear student, I have had a look a your article Kunchi. I have not yet a full review, but want to give some starting comments/ask some questions:
- you did not mention what it was. Is it a type of rock? Are you sure there is not English name for it that already has a page?
- You should make links (like this: donald Duck)
- Format your article with headings (with ==, just press edit in the screen of the page, and you'll how I did it)
- To get an idea about the vocabulary needed to write geological articles, try some of the articles in Category:Dolomite (rock) for inspiration.
Questions? Let me know at my talk page! good luck wiht the article, L.tak (talk) 18:16, 3 October 2011 (UTC)
The article Momi cafe has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Sparthorse (talk) 15:57, 20 December 2011 (UTC)
