You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for adding spam links. Persistent spammers will have their websites blacklisted from Wikipedia and potentially penalized by search engines.
If you believe that there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 11:18, 18 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Hi,

I apologize for adding links that were considered spam. I didn’t mean to break the rules and I’m fully responsible for my actions.
I accept the indefinite block and if it’s going to stay I’d like to point out that my edits to the ICLUB page were made in good faith. I added trusted links like Forbes.ua and ICLUB’s official website to make the info more reliable. I don’t think those edits need to be reverted.
If I’m unblocked I promise to follow the rules from now on. Thank you for the appeal and for the chance to contribute again. NKabs03 (talk) 11:36, 18 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Your edit to ICLUB was blatantly promotional. Since you seem to think it was correct, there are no grounds to remove the block. See WP:PROMO, WP:YESPROMO. 331dot (talk) 12:01, 18 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

Thank you for your response and for pointing me to WP:PROMO and WP:YESPROMO. I now understand how my edits may have been perceived as promotional. This was not my intention—I added Forbes.ua as a trusted and independent source and ICLUB’s official page to provide accurate information and additional context, not to promote the organization. My edits were inspired by similar pages like AngelList, which also include links to official pages for context that talked about raised funds, closed deals, etc. I see now that my approach might have been flawed, and I apologize if it appeared biased or inconsistent with Wikipedia's guidelines. I’m not contesting the block and take full responsibility for my mistakes, just to clarify my intentions.

Accept reason:

This second request meets my standards for reversing my own block (a coherent appeal and understanding of the problem) so I've unblocked. I strongly suggest you read the external links policy before youadd any more links but otherwise you are welcome to edit as you please. I apologise for the inconvenience. I have moved your post to the bottom of the page. Please place new postings at the bottom so that discussions appear in the correct chronological order. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 14:58, 18 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi! Just to clarify, the page AngelList is itself in pretty bad shape: having links to the subject's own website for anything beyond routine matter-of-fact data (like the name of the CEO, the address of the headquarters or the logo) is considered poor sourcing, and often done for promotional reasons. The article currently has an orange banner reading A major contributor to this article appears to have a close connection with its subject, which indicates it is likely that promotional editing took place, and it should not be used as an example.
If you want better examples of quality articles in your topic, I invite you to look at examples from the list of good articles, which have received a thorough review by an experienced editor. Chaotic Enby (talk · contribs) 19:17, 18 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@HJ Mitchell, I don't see any warnings here, and I'm not sure why this user was blocked for spamming. Can you comment? I don't see a reason for a block here. -- asilvering (talk) 20:47, 18 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Asilvering Blog link on Bamboo textile (which is on my watchlist precisely because it gets a lot of spam), followed by adding promotional text to ICLUB, then two more commercial external links is spam. As explained elsewhere, warning spammers is like asking a crocodile not to eat you. The only thing that makes me hesitate here is that the links are all different (SEO firms usually have one account per domain). HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 22:38, 18 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
HJ Mitchell: Comparing getting bit by a crocodile to dealing with a bit more spam on Wikipedia is harsh. Worst case scenario for warning is that you end up having to delete a bit more spam. Worst case scenario for blocking prematurely is that you lose a potentially beneficial editor. Granted, I don't spend a ton of time cleaning up spam, but I also see far too many articles/drafts nominated for G12 that were written by new users and could easily be cleaned up. Given how much promotional text we see in our day-to-day, it can be hard for people to learn how to write in a neutral tone. We really need to give newbies more chances. @Significa liberdade: the promotional text is not what drew my attention to this user. Promotional articles and drafts are a problem but I tend to deal with link spam, which is a different animal, though there is sometimes some overlap.
