AfD nomination of Faux Cyrillic

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Faux Cyrillic. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Faux Cyrillic (2nd nomination). Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:09, 23 December 2009 (UTC)

Dear friend, thank You wery much for Your articles about Ukraine and its military, but in ukrainian translation, that what You had posted sounds: Моя англійська сторінка:. Actually "ґ" is a rare letter and the words with "ґ" can be counted on the fingers of both hands. For instance, ґанок (yard), ґрунт (ground), ґудзик (button), etc. And thanks for this. -- SerdechnyG (talk) 12:35, 13 March 2010 (UTC)

Thanks and you're welcome. My Canadian diaspora Ukrainian has some artifacts: анґлієць, канадійці, дев’ятдесять, роґалики, Вінніпеґ, і.т.д. I guess it's my Halychansky heritage and the 1928 Kharkiv orthography. Regards. Michael Z. 2010-03-13 18:15 z
UeArtemis (talk) 13:19, 18 April 2010 (UTC)

UeArtemis (talk) 13:36, 18 April 2010 (UTC)

--UeArtemis (talk) 13:37, 20 April 2010 (UTC)
UeArtemis (talk) 14:07, 20 April 2010 (UTC)

Curly quotes

This edit contradicts the MoS' recommendation of using typewriter style exclusively; see WP:PUNC. Can you change it back? —LOL T/C 14:32, 7 May 2010 (UTC)

It's a only a “recommendation,” and none of the rationale for the tick marks applies in this case, since these are not in an article body or title, or dividing a word, or in HTML code. Typographic quotation marks are better and more correct. Michael Z. 2010-05-07 15:05 z
If that's the case, then I suggest doing the same to the other hatnote templates: For3, Otherusesof, Redirect-acronym, Redirect2, Redirect3, Redirect4, Redirect6, Redirect10, Redirect-distinguish, and Redirect-distinguish2. Cheers. —LOL T/C 15:16, 7 May 2010 (UTC)
Done, thank you. If you have the opportunity, please have a look over them and make sure I haven't screwed anything up. Regards. Michael Z. 2010-05-07 15:30 z
I had a quick look, and everything seems fine. —LOL T/C 16:49, 7 May 2010 (UTC)

The edits have been reverted. If you're interested you should join the discussion at Template talk:Redirect#Quotes. Personally, I think that WP:PUNC discourages the use of curly quotes, even in a hatnote, but I also think that the curly quotes are prettier. It's certainly worth a discussion. — sligocki (talk) 03:28, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:BTMP-84.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:BTMP-84.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 21:26, 11 May 2010 (UTC)

Ukranians of the Ukraine

I have used information on your user page to find and correct (I hope) errors in spelling and usage, as can be seen from my User contributions. The Google search for "the Ukraine" still seems to turn up instances that I have already corrected. Do you know if information that Google searches through gets updated often?Fartherred (talk) 15:53, 21 May 2010 (UTC)

Thanks. I think Google's index gets updated in a few days or weeks, depending on how busy or popular a page is. Michael Z. 2010-05-24 14:54 z

Nomination of Half Pints Brewing Company for deletion

A discussion has begun about whether the article Half Pints Brewing Company, which you created or to which you contributed, should be deleted. While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Half Pints Brewing Company until a consensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion.

You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Mannafredo (talk) 09:26, 26 November 2010 (UTC)

The article Joe Bloggins has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unreferenced and little more than a dictionary definition of an obscure military term.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. GiftigerWunsch [TALK] 22:48, 28 November 2010 (UTC)

Template:Patton tank navigation has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for discussion page. Thank you. Marcus Qwertyus 19:44, 6 December 2010 (UTC)
