Speedy deletion nomination of Dhanauri Wetlands

[edit]

Hello Mypicsspeaks,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Dhanauri Wetlands for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. NeedAGoodUsername (talk) 01:37, 10 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Notability for groups

[edit]

Hi! I thought I'd explain why the article was deleted. Ultimately it was because you didn't show how the group passes notability guidelines. Wikipedia is a bit strict when it comes to notability, as you'd have to show where the group has received coverage in independent and reliable sources like newspaper coverage. Most groups fail this criteria since they're usually private groups that don't really stand out in the ways that would cause newspapers to really report on them. (No offense meant by that.) Wikipedia isn't the same as Facebook, where you can have group pages and use them to raise awareness or to help out others, and entries on here are only supposed to be used as encyclopedia articles. Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Dhanauri Wetlands has been reverted.

The external link(s) you added or changed (https://www.facebook.com/MyPicsSpeaks/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1774684766101078) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Jhalana leopard safari, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hello Mypicsspeaks, thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. However, the addition to Jaipur contained a lot of extensive tourism-related information, that might be better suited for our sister project WikiVoyage (in case you are interested in adding detailed travel-related information). Two more important points: content on Wikipedia must be written in an uninvolved neutral tone - phrases like "hottest tourist spot for wildlife lovers" shouldn't be used in an encyclopedia (see WP:NPOV and WP:TONE). And lastly, when adding content you should specify where exactly the information came from - not only with a general domain link, but with the exact source of information for any specific statement and detail. You'll find a "how to" guide for referencing at WP:Referencing for beginners and Wikipedia's guideline about sources at WP:RS.

I hope, these tips are helpful and that you'll continue to contribute to Wikipedia. Please feel free to ask if you have any further questions - I'd be glad to help. You can also post for advice at WP:Teahouse, a good forum for new editors with Wikipedia-related questions. Best regards. GermanJoe (talk) 09:06, 8 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
