Hey, Mymeader, and welcome to Wikipedia! I saw that you removed the speedy deletion tag on the page you created (Valley forge casino resort). I also saw that you've recreated it at (Valley Forge Casino). Are they going to be the same article? If they are, we should delete one, since generally, having duplicate articles is a bad thing (if nothing else, they're hard to maintain). Since "Valley forge casino resort") doesn't have the correct capitalization, it's not really something we need to keep is it? Let me know if there's anything I can help you with. Thanks! Just fyi, I redirected the one to the other. Writ Keeper 19:57, 13 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Valley Forge Casino requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Hairhorn (talk) 02:16, 14 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, this page needs content... an infobox without an article attached isn't going to meet the notability requirements. Cheers. Hairhorn (talk) 02:23, 14 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Valley Forge Casino Resort, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

Status and Advice

[edit]

As reviewing administrator, I thought it informative enough, especially after I had removed some material. You have clearly fashioned this after other casino articles in Wikipedia, articles which themselves tend to be on the fringes of promotionalism.

As a general rule, a suitable page will be best written by someone without Conflict of Interest; it's not impossible to do it properly with a conflict of interest or as a paid press agent, but it's relatively more difficult: you are automatically thinking in terms of what the subject wishes to communicate to the public, but an uninvolved person will think in terms of what the public might wish to know. Include only material that would be of interest to a general reader coming across the mention of the subject and wanting the sort of information that would be found in an encyclopedia. Do not include material that would be of interest only to those associated with the subject, or to prospective visitors--that sort of content is considered promotional.

And there is a problem--it has not yet opened, and therefore might be considered promotional. Anyone may nominate it for deletion by a regular deletion process. If the article should get deleted, you might consider waiting until it has opened in two weeks from now and there are the additional news stories for that.
