advice on Madad
[edit]Unlike the previous editor, you have some experience here in writing articles, and you have good work to your credit (looking at them, there are also af ew problems, which I will mention on your talk page). I think you could reasonably try to develop the page and resubmit it. It needs a good deal of bio added, but sources are available.
- the problem here is that giving news interviews on matters of current concern is not making a major impact, but pure routine. (there have been a few very exceptional occasions where the interviews themselves have been matters for substantial coverage elsewhere, but I don't think that's the case here. ) What usually qualifies under that provision is a very senior bureaucrat, or someone who would equally well be notable under other criteria--for example, an author who has written important popular science books, or a very influential journalist. There needs to be some strong actually independent evidence, not just customary hype about qualifications given by the publication--most of them are written by the person or their press agent. For example [1] -- notice the PR-style vagueness about exact dates and other details .
- Normally, her position has head of a small very specialized unit in a city's health department would not be likely to be considered notable But this is not normal times, and there is likely to be public interest in the qualification and background of people giving information on contagious disease. The problem here will be NOT NEWS. Obviously we're covering the pandemic in great detail, and our crowdsourcing can be more effective than ordinary reporting at keeping up to date on major events. But this may be considered peripheral.

general advice
[edit]we're inundated with PR, and there are some general practices in writing bios to make them read as encyclopedia articles. not press releases.
Bios should give information on the person's career, emphasizing the areas of notability . They shouldn't use PR-derived phrases such as "... has come out strongly against" ; they can state the position, but this isn't the place for the arguments, and they shouldn't include short quotes unless necessary, as in very controversial matters They shouldn't include minor matter, like specific talks before various groups; they should not includes such fake awards as the many "30 under 30", which are simply PR gimmicks. They shouldn't include undergraduate awards, or awards from the person's own organization.
They need not give such background information as " Trophoblast cells of the placenta were found to be important in facilitating blood flow to the uterus" -- we use links to the relevant articles instead. The education and career section needs exact years for each degree and position. Academic bio should list the most important journal articles , as determined by citations, and all the books, bit not minor contributions

- give what you can find. It's not unusual to have difficulty tracking these down in the sources; the ideal source is the formal academic CV, which is always meticulously exact in everything; there always is one, but most academics don't actually post theirs in public, though sometimes they can be tracked down. What academics post instead is something written for them in their voice by the PR office, which cares about being impressive, not being exact. A life happens in sequence, and that sequence is the foundation for understanding. But it' rare that in writing a WP article one can go to the same effort as if one were writing a full biography. Hi Mw learner! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Reiko Kuroda that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you.
