Famous Iowans

[edit]

Please do not put Bill Lapham in, because he does not have a wikipedia page. Also, we are most likely going to delete this section all together, or put very strict standards on who is going to be allowed to be listed Ctjf83 talk 20:23, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, while there aren't specific standards on who can be in the list, the list has to be tight and short, otherwise it turns into listcruft Minessota is a Featured article and has no section like that. Kansas has their list in paragraph form. So your uncle is obviously not "famous enough" to be in the list. We can have a discussion if you want on the others you listed. Just contact me if you have more questions Ctjf83 talk 19:53, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
If you're going to add Bill Lapham, make sure he has an article with cited reliable sources first, and then add him to the List of people from Iowa article. Like I said on the Iowa talk page, every athlete from Iowa would have a rationale to be listed if he is listed on the main page -- and that will make the article longer than it should be (see Wikipedia:Article size). --Iowahwyman (talk) 15:06, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
