Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Matt Traverso, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Matt Traverso and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Hqb (talk) 12:35, 27 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Sir or Madam, please look at the example of fellow motivational speaker T Harv Eker http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/T._Harv_Eker which has fewer links than I do and you'll notice that the #1 Google autocomplete option when you type in "T Harv Eker" is "t harv eker scam." And you'll notice that the #7 Google autocomplete option when you type in "T Harv Eker" is "t harv eker fraud". Also, please note that most of my work is in Italian, in fact if you search my name in Google Italy (www.google.it) it will not show scam or 'truffa' (which means scam in Italian), instead it will show 'matt traverso coaching', 'matt traverso diabete', 'matt traverso libri', 'matt traverso come curare il diabete', 'matt traverso la nuova biologia della salute', and nothing else. My mission and spiritual assignment is to inspire, empower, and make a difference in people's lives: through my live seminars and conferences I've helped thousands of people improve the quality of their life and I've published six paperback books with major publishers in the areas of personal development, health and well-being. Here they are: http://www.ilgiardinodeilibri.it/libri/__coaching_realizza_tuo_potenziale.php http://www.tilibri.com/libri/la_nuova_biologia_salute.html http://www.ilgiardinodeilibri.it/libri/__i-pilastri-della-persuasione.php http://www.amazon.com/s?ie=UTF8&keywords=The%20NLP%20Professional%20Practitioner%20Manual%20-%20Official%20Certification%20Manual&index=blended&page=1 http://www.amazon.ca/Nlp-Professional-Practitioner-Manual-Certification/dp/0935410058 http://www.ilgiardinodeilibri.it/libri/__la-salute-e-una-scelta-scegli-di-star-bene.php http://www.amazon.fr/Abundance-Zone-z-Successful-Living/dp/1905823215

Thanks for your help and assistance. Kind regards, Matt--Mtx1 (talk) 21:50, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Zeitgeist: The Movie

[edit]

Hi. Welcome to Wikipedia. Thanks working to improve the Zeitgeist: The Movie article. However, Wikipedia's policies on Neutrality and Original Research (including WP:SYNTH) forbids editors from adding their own personal viewpoints, arguments or comments to articles, as you did with some of your edits. While noting criticism and countercriticism is perfectly acceptable, as you did with this edit, other comments, such as "Christ in Egypt: The Horus-Jesus Connection, is a nearly 600 page book full of the kind of evidence that Dr. Forbes claims doesn't exist." is not appropriate.

Also, terms should not be wikilinked more than once per section.

If you have any other questions about editing, or need help regarding the site's policies, just let me know by leaving a message for me in a new section at the bottom of my talk page. Thanks. :-) Nightscream (talk) 01:43, 14 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You mean that for example Acharya S should not be linked everytime it is encountered in the same section Yes, that's correct.
...- this is not my viewpoint or comment, this excerpt is present on the website that i've put in the footnote. If that's the case, make sure that it is attributed as such. If it's a direct quote, put it in quotation marks (Acharya commented, "Christ in Egypt is a nearly 600 page book full of the kind of evidence...") or paraphrase it as such (Acharya responded by pointing to her book, Christ in Egypt, which she contends contains the evidence in question...). When you write, for example, "Acharya S/Murdock currently has several books...", this gives the appearance that the article is making its own observations on the issue, instead of simply relating what Acharya herself has said in response.
You also deleted all of my other addings at the bottom of the "Scholarly responses" section. Why? One of the links, which was to Freethoughnation, is a message board. As indicated at WP:USERG, sites with user-generated content like blogs, wikis, message boards, imdb, etc., are not considered reliable sources. There's no way to be sure that the person posting there as Acharya is in fact Murdock. Anyone, after all, can post on a message board using just about whatever username they wish. As the for the Catholic Encyclopedia, I could not find any reference to Acharya on the page, as the words "Acharya" and "Murdock" did not turn up with a search. You can say, "Acharya addressed the sun/son issue", but only if the source you cite meets WP:IRS.
As for the material in the book Christ in Egypt, does Murdock specifically mention Forbes' criticism when discussing the issue of Isis' virginity?
Regarding linking to the Pyramid texts article, If I understand you correctly, you cannot cite one Wikipedia article in another Wikipedia article as a source, as that would be circular.
And can i include also this: Acharya S/Murdock currently has several books with over 2,100 pages of text, including over 5,700 footnotes/citations to primary sources and the works of highly credentialed authorities from a wide variety of relevant fields, adding up to over 1,600 bibliographical sources. Her books also contain over 300 illustrations. It's information, facts, no opinions. The problem with this is that the person making the observation about her books in response to Forbes' criticism is you, rather than Acharya. This violates WP:NOR and WP:SYNTH. You must relate only what the sources say in response to the criticism by Forbes and others. You cannot offer your own observations, as editors are not permitted to do this, since this would violate WP:NPOV and WP:NOTSOAP. The number of pages, footnotes and illustrations in her books doesn't mitigate this.
Hope this makes it clearer. :-) Nightscream (talk) 14:36, 14 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Si, Io parlo un poco d'Italiano. E prego. :-)
I'm sorry if I didn't notice that there was another external link to a blog. Which one is it? Nightscream (talk) 21:22, 15 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
My godparents, and various other aunts, uncles and cousins on both sides of my family, mostly in Campagna. What's your connection to Italy?
Yeah, that is a blog. I've removed it. Thanks for pointing that out. :-) Nightscream (talk) 07:29, 16 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry I missed the other stuff. I'm not sure if inserting our own response to Forbes, based on our knowledge of Murdock's past work, would constitute original research. It might, so maybe you should start a discussion on the article's talk page to ask others what they think. I do know, however, that if we did put it in there, we would have to emphasize attributive wording. In other words, saying something like "Murdock examined evidence that Horus' mother was a virgin in her 2009 book, Christ in Egypt..." might be permissible, but saying something like "Christ in Egypt is full of the kind of evidence that Forbes says doesn't exist", or, "His critique has been addressed" is definitely not, unless it's a direct quote by Murdock, in which case, you'd have to present it as such, with quotation marks. The bottom line is, we can only report what Murdock said in response to Forbes, and not what we say to him. Nightscream (talk) 19:30, 16 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Stellar House Publishing piece is already cited in the article text body. (It's currently reference #21). Nightscream (talk) 21:16, 16 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
