Image Geoffrey Tozer

[edit]

I wonder if you could add a license to the image File:GeoffreyTozer.jpg. This would allow the transfer of the file to Wikimedia Commons and its subsequent use in articles in the German and French Wikipedia. In case you are unfamiliar with such licenses, and without presuming anything, I suggest you look at these: {{PD-self}}, {{PD-user}}, {{PD-author}}, {{Cc-by-sa-3.0}}. All the best, Michael Bednarek (talk) 04:43, 24 October 2009 (UTC). I have added the copyright now. Mstroh (talk) 19:00, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:MoragBeatonAmaskedBall1969.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NickContact/Contribs 17:55, 12 April 2010 (UTC) Thanks. I have added the copyright tags. Mstroh (talk) 19:01, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. First of all, a very interesting article, well done! I've made a few format changes for the lead and the opera titles to comply with the WP manual of style and fixed some links, but nothing major. My only concern is the photographs. A lot of editors mistakenly think that if they scan a photo it is "entirely their own work". But actually, that's not true. The copyright belongs to the photographer, who must be credited, and you can't release the images without their permission. Just a heads up, as the images will probably be called into question eventually and are at serious risk of deletion. Best, Voceditenore (talk) 06:34, 14 April 2010 (UTC) Thank you! I have added copyright to the images. Mstroh (talk) 18:56, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

David Peter Stroh article

[edit]

Hi Voceditenore, would you please assist to resolve these problems I am having with the references. Are you saying that any article that DPS writes may not be referenced in Wikipedia unless it has been referenced somewhere else first? So I cannot use these as references? Is it because Wikipedia is an "index" of articles people write about others and not themselves?

Hello, Mstroh. You have new messages at Voceditenore's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of QLess, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.prweb.com/releases/2013/6/prweb10814454.htm.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) Orphaned non-free media (File:QLess logo.png)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:QLess logo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Werieth (talk) 16:36, 13 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:MoragBeatonAsTurandot1967 3.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:MoragBeatonAsTurandot1967 3.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

ATTENTION: This is an automated, bot-generated message. This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:06, 22 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
