Thanks for the comment. You're right to some extent, but the salt produced by evaporation tends to be quite fine, pure crystals. Road salt needs to be mined, to produce large, sandy chunks which dissolve slower and more evenly. Plus, as sea salt is better tasting than rock salt, most sea salt goes to the food industry, leaving rock salt for the road industry. If I can find a proper source, I'll add it to the article.
