Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Msmw4, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Noonlight, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome!   –Skywatcher68 (talk) 15:38, 25 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry. I did not see this before I edited again. Thanks for this information. I’ll make sure to follow these guides for the next time I edit. Thank you! Msmw4 (talk) 16:01, 25 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
{{Help me}} I’d appreciate you proofreading my edits and disclose that I am a Noonlight employee.
I edited out the article that was written years ago. Although recently re-released in 2020 with false claims. This can be supported by our privacy policy here: https://www.noonlight.com/privacy and a rep comments on data sharing/selling here https://www.buzzfeednews.com/amphtml/clarissajanlim/tinder-noonlight-safety-date-panic-button
Since this Wikipedia page was written, we’ve also expanded our product offerings to our APIs utilized by other companies so my edits reflect that.
my edits for the top of the page:
Noonlight, formerly SafeTrek, is a mobile app that triggers requests to emergency services and has grown into a suite of emergency response APIs backing some of the smartest home, health, and lifestyle products in the IoT market.
my edits for background
Noonlight is a connected platform and mobile app that can trigger requests to emergency services and has grown into a suite of emergency response APIs backing some of the smartest home, health, and lifestyle products in the IoT market . The company was founded in 2013 and is based in St. Louis, Missouri. In October 2022, Alarm.com acquired a majority stake in Noonlight. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
if you need any more information from me to make these edits, please let me know! Thank you! Msmw4 (talk) 16:23, 25 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
As a self-declared employee, you need to propose edits at Talk: Noonlight rather than edit the article directly. Also, please use Talk: Noonlight to explain exactly what is "misleading and incorrect" about those articles. Failure to comply can result in you being blocked from editing.   –Skywatcher68 (talk) 17:18, 25 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
And, in your edit requests, you must support your changes with citations to reliable and independent sources. Except for verifying basic facts and figures, company-authored sources lack the required independence from the topic and will not be considered. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 21:20, 25 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
{{Help me}} Thank you! If I am just trying to prove the claims made on the page are not supported by the cited source, and am citing said independent source - will that suffice? Msmw4 (talk) 21:50, 25 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that should be enough. Try the edit request wizard to assist you in writing your edit request. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 22:28, 25 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
