Help with images
[edit]Thanks! I'm still learning, since I'm VERY new to this. One thing I want to do is add an image to an article I recently created. I have permission from the owner/creator, but I gather that isn't good enough. I still have the email from him granting permission to use it on Wikipedia. Could it fall under the GNU Free Documentation license? I think my situation is similar to the one found at http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Image:Antwerp.jpg . Does the owner need to send an email to Wikipedia? I think I can figure out how to upload the image and get it in the article, once I know what procedures to go through first. Thanks for any help. Mr Instamatic 19:25, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
- I'd upload it, mark it as {{GFDL}} and add the text of the e-mail. Please leave a note on my talk page if there's any further problem.--Runcorn 19:50, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
Cajun's Fabulous Fried Chicken
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Cajun's Fabulous Fried Chicken, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}}
to the top of Cajun's Fabulous Fried Chicken. JASpencer (talk) 09:44, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
Virginals, etc.
[edit]Hi Mr I. Thanks for your improvements to the Virginals article. I took the liberty of reverting your references to eight foot pitch when referring to historic instruments, as I know of none that were ever built to such a pitch. Most of Ruckers are 6' or less. The current "fashion" of building virginals exclusively with 8' registers is not altogether "a good thing" (IMHO, but understandable - although it's quite rare for virginals to accompany other instruments).
I also saw you did an article on Blanche Winogron, and added her to List of harpsichordists.
Happy editing. Nick Michael (talk) 12:51, 26 September 2008 (UTC)
File:Asteroid.JPG needs authorship information.
[edit]The media file you uploaded as File:Asteroid.JPG appears to be missing information as to its authorship (and or source), or if you did provide such information, it is confusing for others trying to make use of the image.
It would be appreciated if you would consider updating the file description page, to make the authorship of the media clearer.
Although some images may not need author information in obvious cases, (such where an applicable source is provided),authorship information aids users of the image, and helps ensure that appropriate credit is given (a requirement of some licenses).
- If you created this media yourself, please consider explicitly including your user name, for which:{{subst:usernameexpand|Mr Instamatic}} will produce an appropriate expansion,
or use the {{own}} template..
- If this is an old image, for which the authorship is unknown or impossible to determine, please indicate this on the file description page.
Disambiguation link notification for August 29
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Bill Crofut, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Adlai Stevenson. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
