Other user's userpages

[edit]

Hi,
by default you should never create or edit other user's user pages unless you know they'd want you to or there's a good reason for it. See WP:USER#Editing of other editors' user and user talk pages for details. Since the template you used also left some undesirable text on the user pages you edited I've reverted your modifications.
If you have any questions about this feel free to ask.

Welcome to Wikipedia. A page you recently created, Paymo, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for new pages, so it will shortly be removed (if it hasn't been already). Please use the sandbox for any tests, and consider using the Article Wizard. For more information about creating articles, you may want to read Your first article. You may also want to read our introduction page to learn more about contributing. Thank you.

The article Sparks (Winx Club) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Copy&pasted from http://winx.wikia.com/wiki/Sparks

Missing attribution can be fixed, however this article as-is lacks all real-world notability, and a (very brief) Internet search suggests that this can't be rectified.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Amalthea 12:45, 21 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Copying content and scope of Wikipedia

[edit]

Hi,
another friendly notice, the Wikipedia community has decided that Wikipedia only has a strictly limited scope. That means in particular that Wikipedia should not have standalone articles on every fictional character there is. It's acceptable and desirable to have brief sections on characters in the respective article about the work (Winx Club or Avatar (2009 film) in case of your recent articles), a standalone article is only appropriate if there are multiple independent, WP:reliable sources (newspapers, scientific journals, ...) discussing that character in depth. You can find details about this in the policy page WP:NOTABILITY.

Another important point: It is never acceptable to simply copy content you found anywhere on the Internet and paste it into an article here. Doing that is at best WP:Plagiarism, usually it is a WP:Copyright violation. With the Wikia content you used in your most recent edits that licensing problem could theoretically be repaired since Wikia content is using the same free license Wikipedia does, but the material you'll find on Wikia is also hardly ever useful in an encyclopedic article on Wikipedia.

Again, if you have any questions about this feel free to ask.

Thank you, Amalthea 13:03, 21 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
