2013 October
Hi, MrScorch6200. I wanted to let you know that I have moved the page 2013 October to User talk:MrScorch6200/2013 October as it seemed to be a misplaced user talk archive. Regards, GILO A&E⇑ 21:14, 1 November 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you, I can't believe that I didn't catch that! It seems that I forgot to place a "/" in front of the "2013 October" link in the collapsible archive box above and accidentally created an article (when I moved the to-be archived materials I accessed the article from the collapsible, so I didn't catch my mistake). Anyway, thanks! MrScorch6200 (talk) 22:08, 1 November 2013 (UTC)
Hello MrScorch6200. The article is not finished – I don't have much time to learn wikimarkup so I'm having problems putting together the references and everything else.
The main reference would be his book "Are we still rolling", but also the album pages of a lot of the groups (see Talk Talk Laughing Stock (https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Laughing_Stock_(album)) and Spirit of Eden (https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Spirit_of_Eden) where he is stated as the engineer, as he is with Mark Hollis' solo album (https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Mark_Hollis_(album)).
There's also a handful of other articles:
http://users.cybercity.dk/~bcc11425/IntWWpb1198.html http://www.miloco.co.uk/milocoresource/record-producer-interviews/phill-brown-producer-interview.php http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/apr11/articles/awsr.htm http://www.theguardian.com/music/2011/jun/02/phill-brown-recording-studio-bob-marley http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/interviews/interviews/phill_brown_sessions_with_led_zeppelin_were_claustrophobic_and_scary.html
And his own website
it seems odd that he has no wikipedia reference given what he's been involved in. He was the engineer when Hendrix covered "All along the watchtower", Led Zeppelin did "Stairway to Heaven" and the Rolling Stones "Beggars Banquet" among many others. See his own website for a list. Feel free to delete what I did but he still deserves his own page. My real problem is that I don't know how to write adequate mark-up.
Speedy deletion declined: Ethiopian welo opal
Hello MrScorch6200. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Ethiopian welo opal, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: There is sufficient context to identify the subject of the article. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 03:06, 30 November 2013 (UTC)
- If you read the current revision of the article it doesn't even tell you what opal is. An inexperienced person (like me) on the subject would say that there is insufficient context. It's almost like saying "Steve Jobs is a person." (well, who is Steve Jobs?) unlike something such as "Steve Jobs is the co-founder of Apple Inc., a computer and handheld-device company. MrScorch6200 (talk) 03:43, 30 November 2013 (UTC)
- I don't understand. It's an article about Ethiopian opals. That's clear from the first sentence. It may not be clearly written, and it may be sufficient to stand on its own (which is why I recommend that it be merged with Opal), but its subject is clear.
- If you don't think it belongs on Wikipedia, try WP:PROD. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 03:46, 1 December 2013 (UTC)
Hi there, how are you my friend? I have added references to Lester Ellis Jr's page. I am his official representative and would appreciate your guidance with maintaining his Wiki page, and also any tips you may have. We're interested in adding a picture. Can you pls advise how to do that?
Thanks so much, Mike (Strawberry Dee Dot)
- If you are his official representative, I advise that you read conflict of interest. To add an image to his article you would need to upload it to Wikimedia Commons. Please read up on that here. Also, please sign your talk page posts with four tildes (~); it automatically signs them with your name and date for you. If you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask me or another editor, or even ask a question at the Teahouse. MrScorch6200 (talk) 16:11, 30 November 2013 (UTC)
