Information icon Hello, I'm 74.73.224.126. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. 74.73.224.126 (talk) 17:59, 15 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, sorry that the addition is considered promotional and removed, but the link to the UNDRR Stop Disaster game project is important imo. To help me improve the content can you let me know if it is the link to the UNDRR funded project or the link to the studio commissioned by the UNDRR (included as a reference to the project?) Is it more appropriate to reference additional web links to the project from either further UN agencies such as https://unric.org/en/stop-disasters/ or https://www.preventionweb.net/publication/play-and-learn-stop-disasters (itself a web link in the knowledge sections) or from third party sites such as https://games4sustainability.org/gamepedia/stop-disasters/ etc? Thankyou. MrGravois (talk) 21:00, 15 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi again, do references need to come from publications such as https://www.researchgate.net/publication/316010486_Stop_Disasters_20_Video_Games_as_Tools_for_Disaster_Risk_Reduction or https://www.academia.edu/30067608/Stop_Disaster_Game_Experiment_with_Elementary_School_Students_in_Rio_de_Janeiro_building_safety_culture ? I think there are lots of references to the project being used academically and its benefits studied. With regards. MrGravois (talk) 21:06, 15 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Essentially yes, reliable, secondary sources are preferred to support a mention rather than WP:PRIMARY ones for the purposes of WP:WEIGHT.
The subject is rather peripheral to the subject of the article, so a full section is probably unwise, but if those secondary sources you provided discuss it in relation to UNDRR, a mention is likely justified. I'm a bit busy IRL for the next hour or two, so I invite you to continue this conversation at the WP:TEAHOUSE.
Per WP:EL you shouldn't have external links in line as was the case in your edit, Help:Referencing for beginners explains proper formatting. 74.73.224.126 (talk) 21:11, 15 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
