Yo, khaosworks, wassup?

Not much, just saying hi. Going to bed now. :) --khaosworks (talkcontribs) 17:05, August 10, 2005 (UTC)

Do you have a source for his middle name? Because this article by Chip Kidd (who I think knows Ware very well), and this later article in The Guardian both give "Christopher." -leigh (φθόγγος) 22:35, 25 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Chris' Middle Name

[edit]

Yup. Chris is my source! He's my brother-in-law. I'm not sure why Chip called him Christopher in the article, because you're absolutely right, they're good friends. It's a common mistake. I assumed he was Christopher when we first met, but he set me straight. In a weird coincidence, his middle name sounds like his wife's maiden name, but it's spelled differently.

Incidentally, thanks for doing such a great job on his Wikipedia entry. I mentioned tweaking it to him, and he checked it out. He said something along the lines of it being the way he'd want his obituary to read.

"Obituary to read"... that sounds like such a Chris Ware thing to say. I did not know he was your brother-in-law. Extremely cool. I should ask you to hit him up for an autograph - I'm an Acme Novelty Library fan from way back, and I often recommend Jimmy Corrigan to my friends; with the caveat that they don't read it when they're depressed, or at least keep the razor blades away when they do. --khaosworks (talkcontribs) 15:22, 26 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, dude, no autographs. Until Chris gives me a Col. Tom Parkeresque cut of his wages, I'm not his intermediary. He's going on a book tour next month though, so watch for him. Are you in the states now?

Nah, back in Singapore for the next couple of years, at least. 'sokay, no big deal. :) --khaosworks (talkcontribs) 22:18, 26 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
