hello my friend. i changed my article about afsaneh salari, which i made for the cultural promotion of documentary production space in my country. It is true that I am familiar with this lady, but I do not benefit from her fame or her works. This is a movement that I have started to introduce to the people of the world (and then to the people of my own country with making their Farsi page) the Iranian documentary makers and filmmakers who are achieving many successes in Iran and outside Iran and have created good social and cultural works
So please, if you see these changes and check the references and see if it is good for a suitable article for Wikipedia or not. I would be grateful if you could help me improve day by day Mr.izadpanah (talk) 11:36, 4 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:Afsaneh-Salari-scaled.jpg. However, it is currently missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Salavat (talk) 09:16, 30 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Afsaneh-Salari-scaled.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Afsaneh-Salari-scaled.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{permission pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. Here is a list of your uploads. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 11:03, 30 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this page, Afsaneh Salari – Docmaniacs, doesn't make any claim about the copyright status of the image. Is this something you can request that Afsaneh Salari add to the page or ask her to submit permission via the permissions-en@wikimedia.org? Salavat (talk) 11:03, 30 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
would you please help me for this? i took this image from docmaniancs website which afsaneh salari is one of its co-founders.
just this.
what kind of copyright tag do you suggest for this image Mr.izadpanah (talk) 14:09, 30 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Because the subject is still alive the the image will need a free license in order to be used on Wikipedia. At the moment however it doesn't look like there is any specific licensing for this image on the Docmaniacs website so you have to assume it is copyrighted. So, the best solution would be to contact Docmaniacs and ask them to publish the image under a free license. Details on how to do this are listed above. Salavat (talk) 14:39, 30 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
i asked her to caption the copyright status of the image at the site.
is that ok? Mr.izadpanah (talk) 11:05, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That will work, but could you ask her to specify a specific license in the caption, maybe a Creative Commons license like the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 4.0 International license? Or there are other free licenses can be seen on this page. That way we can apply that license template to the file. Salavat (talk) 15:12, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
what exactly she must write to specify a specific license in the caption?
write the exact caption then i will ask her to replace it with current caption Mr.izadpanah (talk) 11:03, 2 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

My suggestion would be "Image licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 4.0 International license" or short form would be "Image licensed under CC-BY-SA-4.0". Salavat (talk) 14:45, 2 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

thanks a lot for your contribution Mr.izadpanah (talk) 08:32, 13 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@ Mr.izadpanah: I tried to get the Commons file restored at c:COM:REFUND#File:Afsaneh-Salari-scaled.jpg but it's not looking good. So, this image might not be totally in the free and clear just yet. You might want to comment in that Commons discussion to see what else is needed. Perhaps having the copyright holder email their c:COM:CONSENT will resolve things. If the Commons file doesn't get restored, this one should be nominated for deletion because Wikipedia shouldn't really be keeping (at least in my opinion) a local file that is identical to a file Commons is treating as a copyvio. -- Marchjuly (talk) 04:25, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Mr.izadpanah. Please ignore the template I added about the file lacking permission. Apparently, you've discussed this file above with Salavat and have sorted things out with their help. Instead of uploading the file locally to Wikipedia, though, it would have been much better for you to request the undeletion of c:File:Afsaneh-Salari.jpg per c:COM:REFUND since Commons is a much better location for content licensed this way. I've asked the Commons administrator who deleted the file per c:Commons:Deletion requests/File:Afsaneh-Salari-scaled.jpg to take a look at the source url again and determine whether the Commons file can be undeleted. If that happens, the local file will longer be needed and the can be deleted. -- Marchjuly (talk) 12:24, 13 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Draftification of Afsaneh Salari

[edit]

Information icon Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. A page you recently created, Afsaneh Salari, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for new pages, so it has been moved to Draft:Afsaneh Salari where you can continue to work on it. Please consider using the Article Wizard or the Articles for Creation procedure. For more information about creating articles, you may want to read "Your first article". You may also want to read our introduction page to learn more about contributing. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 12:28, 13 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I've draftified this article because there's no clear indication that the subject satisfies Wikipedia:Notability (people) and also because you've declared that you've got a Wikipedia:Conflict of interest with the subject of the article. Moreover, a previous submitted draft for the article was rejected by a Articles for Creation (AfC) reviewer, and the most recent version doesn't seem to have satisfactorily addressed the issues cited by Ratnahastin, the reviewer who declined the draft. Given your delcared connection to the subject, you really shouldn't be moving the draft to the article namespace yourself but instead should continue working on it and then resubmit it to AFC for another review when you think its ready. If you try to move the draft to the article namespace yourself again, there's a really good chance that it will end up being nominated for deletion and subsequently end up deleted. So, please carefully read through the notability guideline for articles about people that I linked to above because it provides guidance as to what AfC reviewers are looking for when they review drafts for articles about living people. If you're unable to clearly establish that Salari meets that guideline, it will be hard for any draft written by anyone to survive a deletion challenge. For reference, there's no limitations placed on the number of times a draft can be submitted as long as you continue improving it and don't just keep re-submitting essentially the same declined version over and over again. -- Marchjuly (talk) 12:40, 13 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Dear contributor. Hello
Thank you very much for the time and effort you put into making Wikipedia better
The article I posted is about one of my compatriot artists and documentary makers who won awards in many domestic and foreign festivals, and I included some of his awards and works in the sources and linked them.
Other contributors also had edits on the article that I discussed with them and solved the problem, and regarding the points you mentioned, I had added new sources and improved the article a lot.
I have no financial relationship with this person and I am only interested in his work.
And over time, I am trying to improve the article I wrote and add the Persian language to it and create a Wikipedia article for the internal links of the article that are valuable, and for this I definitely need your help.
I have returned the article to the main space and I would be very grateful if you tell me if I need to make any changes
I am learning from you and other contributors and I would like you not to deprive me of your guidance.
Thank you very much and please don't move the article to draft and let's talk about it. Mr.izadpanah (talk) 08:09, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I asked an experienced Wikipedia administrator about this at User talk:Primefac#Afsaneh Salari. They (as I pointed out above) also feel that Salari's Wikipedia notability is unclear and that the article probably should be nominated for deletion. This is why I suggested that you not move the draft back to the article namespace due to your declared conflict of interest to the subject. One you did that, the only option left if Salari's Wikipedia notability can't be established is to nominate the article for deletion. If you're able to find significant coverage in WP:SECONDARY reliable sources about Salari (not about her one of her films but about her), then you should try to add them to the article; otherwise, the article continues to be at risk of being nominated for deletion. I've tried Googling for stuff about her, but the stuff showing up is typically not considered sufficient for establishing Wikipedia notability. I've also been asking for input from various WikiProjects, but there's been no responses yet. Perhaps she's received significant coverage in non-English sources? If she has, then they might help establish her Wikipedia notability as long as they're considered reliable sources. -- Marchjuly (talk) 11:59, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I asked about this at WP:VRTN#File:Afsaneh-Salari.jpg and c:Commons:Undeletion requests#File:Afsaneh-Salari-scaled.jpg. It seems VRT verification is going to be needed from the photo's copyright holder for either Commons or Wikipeia to keep this file. If Ms. Salari is the copyright holder, please follow the guidance given in the above template and ask her to email VRT. If she's not the copyright holder, please ask her to ask the person who is to email VRT. Generally, it's the person that takes a photo, not the subject of the photo, who is considered the copyright holder. So, if Ms. Salari isn't the copyright holder of this photo and doesn't remember who is, she could simply take another photo herself and upload it to Commons or ask someone to take another photo of her and have them upload it to Commons. -- Marchjuly (talk) 22:01, 21 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
she is the photo's copyright holder and i asked her to add copyright verification for this photo in its original place in her site which you can see (https://docmaniacs.com/afsaneh-salari/). it this enough? Mr.izadpanah (talk) 11:23, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I pointed that out when asking to have the Commons file restored at c:COM:REFUND and also when I asked about the file at WP:VRTN, but further verification apparently needs to be emailed to Wikipedia VRT. -- Marchjuly (talk) 11:46, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
i'm not sure i understood what should i exactly do. please walk me through it so i can put an end to this problem and end this once and for all. thanks a lot Mr.izadpanah (talk) 07:16, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The best way to resolve this would be to ask the copyright owner of the photo (whoever that is) to email their WP:CONSENT to Wikimedia VRT. If they do that, a VRT member will assess the emailer's claim of copyright ownership. If things check out, the VRT member will add the template {{Permission ticket}} to the file's page to let everyone know the copyright owners consent has been verified. If things don't check out, the VRT member will add the template {{Permission received}} to the file's page and most likely email back explaining what the problem is. The person who emails VRT should be (1) the copyright owner of the photo and (2) use some sort of official email address to help verify they're not someone pretending to be the copyright holder. -- Marchjuly (talk) 08:03, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think such a thing is possible. In my opinion, we should delete the photo and later we will find an image that satisfies the conditions of Wikipedia. thanks a lot Mr.izadpanah (talk) 09:01, 24 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If you were able to get the image's copyright holder to add a CC license to the website you're using as a source for the image, then they should also be able to send a WP:CONSENT email to Wikimedia VRT, shouldn't they? Anyway, if you don't think that's impossible, you can just do nothing and the file will most likely end up being deleted in a few days per WP:F11. If you want the file to be deleted asap, you can go to the file's page, click on "Edit" at the top of the page, and add the syntax {{db-g7}} (Template:db-g7) to the top of the editing window to request that the file be deleted per WP:G7. Once you've done that, you can click "Show preview" to check your work and then click on "Publish changes" if everything looks OK. Just make sure you leave an edit summary stating you uploaded the file but now want it to be deleted. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:28, 25 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much for your cooperation and help
Considering that you are an expert in Wikipedia, can I ask a question? I wanted to see when the page I made will be indexed in Google? Mr.izadpanah (talk) 08:36, 27 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not really an expert; I just perhaps know more about image licensing than you do. You should be able to find out more about Google indexing at Wikipedia:Controlling search engine indexing, but I believe it entirely depends on Google and it's not something that Wikipedia controls. You might want to ask about this at WP:HD or WP:MCQ if you still have questions. -- Marchjuly (talk) 09:37, 27 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Your COI ?

[edit]

You declared that you've got a WP:COI with Salari on your user page and then you removed blanked it. If you have a COI with her, then you still have a COI regardless of whether you've removed said declaration from your userpage. The {{Reviewed}} template you tried to use seems specifically intended for WP:GA reviews, not general article reviews; moreover, even if you don't have a COI, you shouldn't be adding trying to "review" articles that you yourself have created. If you don't understand why doing such a thing is problematic, then perhaps you need to slow down and ask for assistance at either WP:HD or WP:THQ.

For reference, pretty much all newly created Wikipedia pages are, in principle, reviewed and assessed by the Wikipedia:New pages patrol. Even though these reviewers tend prioritize newly created articles over other pages, there are still way more articles being created than there are reviewers; so, it can sometimes take time for a new article to be reviewed. You just need to be patient and let the process run its course. Trying to speed things up only increases the chances of you running into trouble. -- Marchjuly (talk) 13:42, 27 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry for that
I didn't intend to do anything wrong and I didn't want to do anything wrong. I was just checking this indexing issue that I asked you about and this review tag was about that, and thank you for saving me from the mistake. Mr.izadpanah (talk) 16:06, 28 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
